Webinar on health and safety (Indicator 19) An Aiming for Excellence/CORNERSTONE® webinar Join Rosemary Gordon, Principal Advisor – Quality, for a webinar looking at Indicator 19 of the Aiming for Excellence (2016) standard – The practice team is committed to ensuring health and safety in the workplace. This webinar aligns with Indicator 20 in the 2011–2014 standard. We are running this webinar twice – the first session is on 1 May 2018 and the second is on 3 May 2018.

Session 1 Date: Tuesday 1 May 2018 Time: 2:30pm – 3:15pm

Session 2 Date: Thursday 3 May 2018 Time: 12:00noon – 12:45pm This is our second webinar aimed at providing more support and guidance from the College to our members and staff in practices. This support is aimed at your practice either becoming CORNERSTONE® accredited or maintaining your accreditation. In our webinar series, you’ll be able to hear from and speak to College experts from the comfort of your own practice. We’ve upgraded our webinar platform to iron out a few issues which came up during our first webinar – so this time around, we can have more attendees and there will be an improved question and answer system.

In this webinar, we’ll focus on Indicator 19. We’ll look at:

key components of an effective health and safety system health and safety leadership and responsibilities of those in leadership positions worker engagement and participation


managing hazards and risks in your practice incidents the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 the indicator’s two criteria (compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and adesignated health and safety coordinator) what assessors look for when reviewing your self-assessment documentation and during their assessment visits some of the resources available to support you During the webinar, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments. We’ll dedicate time to answering as many questions as we can. Please forward this email to colleagues in your practice who have responsibility for this area – such as your designated health and safety coordinator – or those who would be interested in this topic.

Before the webinar, we encourage you to think about your own practice’s work in this area and what questions you’d like to ask. On the morning of the webinar, we’ll email you a link to the slides and resources we’ve prepared.
