As the CEO of WCCNV, I am always promoting all diversity Chambers of Commerce within the State of Nevada. We work with all 45 state chambers in the US, and email our publications to thousands of city chambers as well.

History: The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada (WCCNV) is a womenowned Nevada State Chamber in the state’s 158-year history.

Dear Members & Readers,

The Women’s Chamber is celebrating its 20th year anniversary, with its members and major corporations who have supported the State Women’s Chamber since May 8, 2002. As its Founder, and CEO, it has been a wonderful journey and I want to share a little of our history.

The Historical State Women’s Chamber was established May 8, 2002 by June L Beland, who is the owner of ABC Publishing© since 1982. She was introduced to the idea of starting a Women’s State chamber for Nevada by the U.S. Chamber, where she had been a member for over 40 years. What most people do not know is that June Beland invested her own money to maintain the chamber for the first five years until the membership gave the Chamber financial stability and with the help of her own company ABC Publishing©. She used her publishing company to promote the History of our Women’s Bi-Monthly Chamber Business Journal© to help market the members and give them a platform in the media in Las Vegas and Nevada (About local and state news, chamber membership-relocation & visitors’ section).

As a State Women’s Chamber, we are non-partisan and do not endorse candidates. We have no political affiliation, nor do we have a PAC. We support women in all areas of business ownership or careers. We also support all diversity in business and local, state and federal offices. Our Government Affair Council Director is Ms. Anita Laruy, who has served 30 years in legal and government arena.

MAX BERKLEY, running for??? 102 years ago on this date, the 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. Today, I got to celebrate women’s equality day by going to the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada lunch.

WOMEN’S RIGHT TO VOTE Irene Bustamante Message

On the 102 year anniversary of #Women’sEquityDay I would like to highlight my friend June L. Beland, President/CEO/Founder of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada. Mrs. Beland is a #trailblazer and an example to follow. When it was discouraged and frowned upon for women to enter the business world, June didn’t take no for an answer. Mrs. Beland has an extensive background in #business 45 years, and 60 years of experience in entertainment Industry, and founded the first Women’s Chamber in the 158-year history of #Nevada.

On the 50th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, women of the National Organization of Women held huge rallies and marches in U.S. cities and hung banners on the Statue of Liberty to ensure that women who made voting possible were honored. After the 1970 protest, Congress attempted to pass the Equal Rights Amendment but its ratification failed. Instead, they designated August 26 of every year as Women’s Equality Day, which recognizes the accomplishments of women in American history 102 years ago. In addition to the amendment, the day also honors women who labored for long hours during World War I, when men were in the battlefields. Women worked in factories of ammunition, weapons, supplies, and more to compensate for the loss of men in the labor force.

Comments from some candidates at the event Governor Steve Sisolak was honored to speak on this day Women’s Equity Day for the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada (The Official State Women’s Chamber of Nevada).
