Beland The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada Update: We Celebrate Unity for Diversity and the Entrepreneurial Spirit In 2018, The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada celebrates sixteen years and our founder, President and CEO, June L. Beland dedicates herself to our diversified community by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services and acknowledging our fellow Chambers of Commerce (State-City-Minority), Women’s Organizations, Women’s Publications, Minority Organizations and Diversity Partners (Students, women, young professionals, men and corporations).
History & Growth Do you know the history of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada? Classified as a Membership Trade Organization - 501 (c) (6) by IRS standards “Not-for-Profit”. History was made on May 8, 2002 for women by establishing the first state Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada© in Nevada’s history, a strong accomplishment for women. The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada is one of three state chambers in the U.S.A., 2nd & 3rd behind Colorado and Texas. Do you know the Founder, President and CEO of the Women’s Chamber? June L. Beland was born and raised in the entertainment industry, retired entrepreneur, magazine publisher and philanthropist, founder of the Women’s Chamber and the WCCNV Legacy Foundation. She spent fifteen years in the entertainment and modeling industry and 41 years as a women entrepreneur and entertainment/celebrity/ business publisher (her career now stems over 57 years+). For the last 29 years, she has also been a member of the original Women in Film Organization-Los Angeles, CA, her mentor in publishing, Tichi Wilkerson-Kassel, former owner of the Hollywood Reporter for 65 years. Acknowledgments in Nevada: WCCNV was part of the Nevada’s 150 birthday: Battle Born Nevada Proud 150th Sesquicentennial History celebration with the Nevada Legacy Project produced by the Women of Diversity Productions “150 Years of Excellence”. The CEO was featured in The Nevada Women’s Legacy - 150 Years of Excellence” book with photos and bios with other women in the State of Nevada along with a video interview. Before the 150 Nevada historical celebration the founder of the Women’s Chamber June was honored by the 100 Years of Influence in 2005, the role of women in shaping the First 100 Years of Nevada. She was among 256 Women who Shaped Las Vegas that was displayed on the The Wall of Women at an Art Exhibit March 18, 2005 at the Theatre & Studio Galleries of the Las Vegas Art Museum. She was also honored with the 2010 Women of Color Conference Hall of Fame by MGM in 2010, this is the same woman who started the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada© so we could have an organization we could trust and honor. Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada© NEW weekly TV & Radio Podcast Starting July 2, 2018 we will be on TgoTV, Inc. & PodNation TV! Making an Impact Our TV shows will be seen and heard on air everywhere but N. Korea.
PodNation TV connects to millions of viewers around the world via platforms such as Roku, AmazonFire TV, Live Stream, YouTube, Google TV and AppleTV just to name a few. We’re taking traditional video PodCasts to the next level and expanding our reach from the Internet to smartphones and smart TVs. We will have a 30 minute weekly show - - the President and CEO of WCCNV will host the interviews, having conversations with chamber Executive Board members, award honorees, chamber partners, discuss all our Signature Luncheon Programs, ATHENA Awards Fundraiser, divisions of the chamber, round tables discussions with Chamber Board members, Young Professional Society-President, Government Council, The Entrepreneur Club-President, Ambassador Directors, Public Education Foundation, Chamber Education Director, Legacy Foundation Board, guest interviews, corporate member interviews and more. We will promote our own signature magazine “Women In Power Business Magazine©” which reaches Las Vegas and all over the world with paid advertisers to help the chamber with non-dues revenue for operational cost and our Legacy Foundation Scholarship program for “At Risk” female high school students.. We will be lining up our interviews and taping times for August 2018. (We will tape 4 shows in one day for the month). Women in Statewide Elective Executive Office 2018 In 2018, 72 women hold statewide elective executive offices across the country; women hold 23.1% of the 312 available positions.* Among these women, 28 are Democrats, 43 are Republicans and 1 is non-partisan. Women have been elected statewide to executive offices in 49 of the nation's 50 states. Of the 72 women, 8 or 11.1% are women of color. In Maine, the governor is the only executive elected statewide, and no woman has ever served as governor there.

Nevada Women's Hall of Fame Honors 2018 Pioneer Award Honoree Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman
Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman Winning 60 percent of the vote, Carolyn G. Goodman became the mayor of the city of Las Vegas in 2011. Among her priorities as mayor, Carolyn has championed improvement in inner-city schools pushing for early learning preschool programs, tutorials for ESL students and their parents, bringing together a coalition of public, private and nonprofits partners to participate in the achievement based and measurable educational initiatives. The mayor helped accomplish the passage of a longawaited Nevada Film Tax Credit in 2013, which is expected to bring significant new film investment and jobs to Nevada. She has spearheaded efforts to formalize policies for the new food truck industry, curb underage drinking downtown and update related Las Vegas Municipal Code provisions. Carolyn is a board member on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. She also serves on the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), Las Vegas Events, the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee, the Regional Transportation Commission and the Clark County Regional Flood Control District. She is chair of the Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency and serves on the UNLV Medicine Community Advisory Board; the Governor’s Technical Advisory Committee for Clark County School District Reorganization; the Governor’s Commission on Tourism; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Local Government Advisory Committee. She is a founding member of the UNLV School of Medicine Community Engagement Board. The mayor also serves on the Blue Ribbon Committee for Clark County Child Welfare Services. Additionally, she holds national leadership roles as a member of the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), is a member of its Advisory Board, vice-chair of its Task Force on Education Reform, and serves as the Chair of the Mayors’ Business Council. Carolyn is well known in the Las Vegas community for founding The Meadows School.

Amanda Bolton REALTORÂŽ is dedicated to helping others and her community. She leverages technology to make her a top producing agent in Las Vegas. She is a knowledgeable expert whose goal is to create educated buyers and sellers. At the young age of 25, she is an extremely knowledgeable expert and is not to be taken lightly. Amanda presides over the Young Professional Society and is also an ambassador and member of the Entrepreneur Club of the Women's Chamber of Commerce NV. Aside from her involvement with WCCNV, she is the secretary of the National Federation of the Blind Southern Nevada Chapter. She is present and takes her time with each and every thing that she does. Amanda prides herself on being efficient. She is able to do the work of two people at least as a single person because she is truly passionate about what she does. Amanda understands that her community needs her. To her, every smile is a direct achievement.
