A WCCNV CHAMBER AND COMMUNITY DIGITAL PUBLICATION MAY 1-14, 2023

History: The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada (WCCNV) was founded in May 8, 2002 as the Official Nevada State Women’s Chamber in the state’s 159-year history of Nevada. I am also the owner of ABC Publishing since 1982 and have been an entrepreneur since 1977.
In early 2002, I was introduced to the idea of starting a Women’s State Chamber for Nevada by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C., who I have been a member of for over 40 years. What most people do not know is that I've invested my own money to maintain the chamber for the first five years, until the membership gave the Chamber financial stability with the help of my own company ABC Publishing©, we were able to raise extra revenue dues for our student scholarships.
I also used my publishing company to promote our Bi-Monthly Chamber Business Journal© to help market our members and give them a platform in Las Vegas media, and creating a subscription for nonmembers. Within the chamber publication we also promote about Nevada's local and state news, chamber membership, relocation and visitors.
As the official State Women’s Chamber for Nevada, we are non-partisan and do not endorse candidates. We have no political affiliation, nor do we have PAC Fun , but we do have a publication to help promote candidates to our membership base so they can decide who they want to vote for. We support women in all areas of business ownership and careers. We also support all diversity in business, local, and state and federal offices. Our Government Affairs Council Director is Ms. Anita Laruy, who has served 40 years in the legal and government arena.
As the CEO of WCCNV, I am always promoting all diversity of our Chambers of Commerce within the State of Nevada. We work with all 45 state chambers in the US and email our publications to thousands of city chambers as well.

Las Vegas attorney Patricia Lee was appointed to the Nevada Supreme Court by Govorner Steve Sisolak, filling the seat vacated in September by Justice Abbi Silver
Lee, a partner at the Hutchison and Steffen law firm in Las Vegas, where she has worked since 2002, was one of three attorneys submitted to Sisolak by the Judicial Selection Committee last week, along with Washoe County District Judge Scott Freeman and Clark County District Judge Tierra Jones.
Silver, who was elected to Nevada Supreme Court in 2018, said in a letter to Sisolak she was resigning “due to unforeseen circumstances,” and to spend more time with her family. Lee will serve through the remainder of her term, which ends in 2025.
Lee was born in Korea to an African American military father and a native Korean mother. She is the first African American woman and the first Asian American to serve on the Nevada Supreme Court. “The breadth and depth of her skill set and her personal and professional experience make her an incredible addition to the state’s highest court,” Sisolak said in a statement.
Hutchison and Steffen partner Mark Hutchison is a member of the transition team for Gov.-Elect Joe Lombardo and he chaired Lombardo’s gubernatorial campaign against Sisolak.
Lee has primarily practiced complex commercial litigation for the law firm, but she has also practiced trademark law, family law and appellate law.
Lee earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California and a law degree from George Washington University Law School.

Teen Cares For Mom With MS, Sheds Light On Caregiver Journey
Kids his age are often shocked to learn Tylor Lopez is his mother’s caregiver. “They think it's kind of crazy,” says 14-year-old Tylor, who lives with his mom, Alison, in Los Lunas, New Mexico. “We have a good balance. I don't just take care of her, she takes care of me, too. I want to help give her the amazing life she's given me."
Alison, age 46, was diagnosed in 2018 with multiple sclerosis (MS). The chronic and progressive central nervous system disorder affects the brain and spinal cord, and in Alison’s case has slowly robbed her of her ability to walk. Primarily relying on a wheelchair for mobility, she requires assistance from Tylor with daily tasks including getting in and out of bed and going to and from the bathroom.

“We’re Team Lopez,” says Alison, who worked as a flight paramedic until the progression of MS caused her to stop. Now, she homeschools Tylor. “If I see a need, I do it if I can. Tylor does the same. We’re partners, and we do whatever has to be done.”
Alison was diagnosed and is regularly treated by Carrie M. Hersh, DO, a neurologist who specializes in MS and neuroimmunology at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, Nevada. When Dr. Hersh learned from Alison that Tylor is serving as her primary caregiver, she worked with her colleagues and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America to get him useful information and resources to support him in his role.
During Alison’s annual visit to the center, Tylor met with Justina Selim, an occupational therapist with expertise on the impact of MS on family members. She taught him customized interventions and approaches to help Tylor on his caregiving journey.
“We have to keep the caregivers in mind, especially one as young as Tylor,” says Dr. Hersh. “They often play a critical role in supporting individuals with MS to be independent and improve their quality of life. But it’s also important to recognize the caregivers’ needs and provide them with the resources and support they require to manage their responsibilities, while maintaining their own well-being.”
Alison is no stranger to caregiving herself. Tylor was born at 25 weeks gestation and weighed less than one pound. Alison was by his side for the entire four months he spent in a hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
