Hello Members, During these uncertain times we are consistently looking to help you with ways to promote yourself and your business. Each issue I will be highlighting a “NEW” option available to all chamber members through your member portal. In the next issue I want to suggest using your Chamber portal to utilize an option called “HOT DEALS.” This option helps businesses promote their products and services to other members. For your convenience here is the link to get started: www.supportwiki.micronetonline.com/Working_with_Job_Postings/Hot_Deals/Member_to_Member_Deals#Add_A_Hot_Deal If you feel you would rather walk through the process with me or have further questions about this topic, please reach out to me and I will be happy to help you! Although we experienced the Great Recession and the aftermath of consequences in 2010, we have never witnessed the impact of a global pandemic. It has created a time of uncertainty for all businesses, members-based organizations that depend on business for sustainability. Even though the future feels uncertain, the Women’s State Chamber created a stimulus plan for membership (New or renewal).

But our organization is a business too and needs sustainable revenue to deploy your mission. So, look into your Membership Stimulus Relief for your level and when you pay your renewal you will be given an extended membership from now until January 2022.

Over the last several months, the Women’s State Chamber has been the conduit between business, elections and COVID-19, provided timely and accurate information to both members and non-members amidst the chaos, and been the “emergency room” for small businesses.

Helping you in uncertain times (Example-November 2020 renew in January 2022) Larger companies also get stimulus relief on Executive, Corporate & Presidential membership call to find out 702.733.3955 (M-F 10am to 2pm).

HEALTH CARE What do we know about the Quarantine and Weight Gain? by Alexis Levi CEO Body Skulpting of Las Vegas

After receiving many calls from women and men we decided to do a study on the effects of the Quarantine on Weight Gain for women and men. The purpose of this study was to quantify the impact that selfquarantine has on behaviors associated with weight gain. The results were astounding! Eating habits changed drastically, more people admitted to cooking more and people 30 and above were cooking less. Using the time to receive deliveries from their favorite restaurants!! Some even purchasing preprepared meals as a way of making themselves feel good in a troubled time.

Ninety-one percent of our study stated they spend more time at home now than before COVID-19. Twenty-two percent of the sample stated they gained 5–10 pounds. Within those who gained 5–10 pounds, there was a significantly higher percentage of the total sample who reported they increased eating in response to sight and smell, eating in response to stress and snacking after dinner compared to those who stated they did not change those behaviors at all. There were significant relationships between predictor variables hours of sleep per night and physical activity time on reported weight gain.

Conclusion

Risk factors for weight gain during self-quarantine are inadequate sleep, snacking after dinner, lack of dietary restraint, eating in response to stress, and reduced physical activity.

Solution:

Cryoskin is a non-invasive treatment used for slimming, cellulite reduction, and toning procedure that can help you jumpstart your way to your goal weight.

Performer Keith Urban performs from Australia “It’s really a song about not having to go it alone.” That’s Keith Urban talking about his single “God Whispered Your Name” prior to performing the track at the 2020 CMA Awards, underlining its importance in a year where community and connection have never been more important. The entertainer of the year nominee performed the single remotely -- as CMAs co-host Reba McEntire put it while introducing Urban, “He’s down under in Australia tonight, but we couldn’t do this show without him.” After introducing “God Whispered Your Name” and dedicating the performance to the sacrifice made by frontline workers around the world in 2020, Urban proceeded to give the single a stripped-down presentation, performing solo with an acoustic guitar and letting his lyrics guide him.

The 2020 CMA Awards are a wrap! The night’s top prize -- entertainer of the year -- went to Eric Church, while Maren Morris took home three awards, including female vocalist of the year for the first time.

God Whispered Your Name” is featured on Urban’s recent album The Speed of Now Part 1, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 albums chart upon its September release. Urban is competing against Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood for entertainer of the year at the 2020 CMAs.
