REGISTRATION: Registration and the Pre-Course swim test will be held at the Indoor Sports Complex. Report to the aquatics office inside the pool area. Swim Suit is REQUIRED! Please DO NOT arrive more than 15 minutes prior.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT? You must be 15 years of age on or before the final day of the course.
HOW DO I REGISTER? Each class will have its own registration date and time. YOU MUST COME IN AND REGISTER IN PERSON. NO PHONE REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED! (Only 10 Participants Accepted Per Class)
WHEN DO I PAY AND HOW MUCH? Payment is due the first day of class once the participant completes the pre-course swim tests. Cost $125.00 and includes all materials
WHAT IS THE PRE-COURSE SWIM TEST? All participants must complete and pass both swim tests prior to starting the class. There are three skills you must successfully complete.
- 300 yard (6 laps) continuous swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both and demonstrate rhythmic breathing. Swimming on back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles ARE allowed.
- Tread water for 2 minutes without stopping, using only the legs, hands must be placed under armpits.
- 10 pound brick test: swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, when the brick is beneath you in the water, surface dive feet first or head first in 7-9 feet of water to retrieve the 10 pound brick, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back with both hands on the brick back to the starting point, exit without using a ladder or steps. Goggles ARE NOT ALLOWED.
ARE THESE TIMED EVENTS? The 300 yard swim is not, but you may not rest once you have started. The 10 pound brick test must be completed within one minute 40 seconds, and you must tread water for 2 minutes without stopping..
CAN I MISS ANY DAYS? All classes are mandatory as the instructors will not be able to go back over any sections of the course. Course time is 28 hours (7 hours at home online & 20 hours in-person training)
WHAT CERTIFICATIONS WILL I RECEIVE? After successful completion of the course, you will receive certification in Lifeguard Training/First Aid/CPR/AED (valid for 2 years).
CAN I GET A JOB WITH THE COUNTY? Although we would like to hire everyone from our classes, not everyone can be employed with the county. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification is nationally recognized and the certification is accepted at most facilities.

Water Aerobic classes are open to all ages!
Morning and evening classes available at the Franklin Recreation Complex, Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. Each class is $8.00 for individuals under age 55 or $4.00 for seniors age 55 and older.

For a crafty birthday party, celebrate with everyone exploring their artistic side to make art a festivity! Our instructors will help you design a project around your pre-selected theme, or if you don’t have a theme, they will find out what fascinates your child and create the perfect Art Party.

Create-A-Class
Love art, but can’t make it to a class? Gather at least 4 friends and pick your project. Whether you love pottery, drawing, painting or knitting – all art classes are available for your private class. Classes available for children, teens & adults. Dates, times, ages, class fee and supply fee vary based on class. Great for Girl’s Night Out!

Pottery
No experience necessary! For those wanting to work with clay for the first time as well as those who just need a place to master their craft, our pottery class takes all-comers. Wheels and kilns on site; make it, bake it, take it. *Please note: projects can take multiple sessions to build, dry, paint, glaze and fire, depending on the scope and size. Paint Parties with Jann
Join instructor Jann Stephens to create charming, decorative pieces to brighten your home for the season. For less than you would spend on supplies, you will enjoy painting wonderful paintings on wood or canvas in acrylics. Jann’s fun and lighthearted style, plus instructive painting tips and techniques, will leave you with a smile and pride in your finished product. Bring a friend, and have some fun!

You and Me Paint Party
Join us for a fun afternoon of adult + child partner art inspired by the sun and the moon. Open to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc., -- paint a pair of canvases that fit together to create a colorful piece you are sure to love! All supplies included. Cost is $45.00 per pair. St. Patrick’s Day Spring Break Camp
This four day spring break camp in Nolensville offers an exciting and unique experience for children of ages 6 -10! Each day begins with story time, where campers will be introduced to a new and exciting tale. Then, the campers will be guided through multiple craft projects related to the story they just heard. The crafts will be fun, creative, and educational, helping to expand the campers’ knowledge of the fairy tale world. This camp is sure to be a great way for campers to learn, grow, and have fun!
