Your food waste collected every week
Use your food caddies for all your leftovers including meat, fish and bones, vegetables and peelings, bread, rice and pasta, eggshells, tea bags and coffee grounds. Line your kitchen caddy with a compostable caddy liner, any type of plastic bag, or with newspaper.
We can also take away textiles, household batteries and small electrical items (please place in a bag next to your recycling, refuse or garden waste bin).





Recycling
every fortnight
We can now collect loads, but make sure it’s clean and dry; plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays; tins, foil and aerosols, paper and card, Tetra Pak and cartons; plastic bags, plastic film and other soft plastics.

Non-recyclable waste collected every 3 weeks
The majority of you shouldn’t have much! This includes any items that can’t yet be recycled: polystyrene, nappies and hygiene products and bagged and tied pet waste.

To help make your home as energy efficient as possible, the Council is working in partnership with Act on Energy, a local organisation providing free, impartial advice on all aspects of home energy efficiency, including:
• Grants for insulation through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and other Government schemes
• Boilers, including replacements
• Switching energy tariffs
• Support with fuel debt and access to hardship funds
