Co-curated by quilt artist Annabel Rainbow, this exhibition will feature the work of five other distinguished textile artists, who have drawn inspiration from the Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum collections to create new and thoughtprovoking pieces of art in dialogue with history.
The exhibition will showcase Daniel Lismore’s
striking textile sculptures; bold tapestries from Jennie Moncur; innovative quilt designs by Laura Kemshall, Linda Kemshall and Annabel Rainbow, including a series of portraits of local Windrush elders; and unique combinations of textiles and other media from Stephanie Redfern.

A Different View brings together the work of over fifty painters, sculptors and photographers to trace the story of women artists in Britain through the collection.
Presenting historical, modern and contemporary artworks across a wide range of themes, the exhibition explores what was possible for these artists from the late Victorian period onwards and charts the long and difficult route to professionalism.
The first survey of women artists in the collection, A Different View engages with the historic absence of women in academic narratives and shines a light on those artists who have shaped British art practice and culture.
Learn something new in your lunchbreak. This free programme of talks are hosted by guest speakers as well as gallery curators on a range of topics linked to the Art Gallery and Museum and wider Warwickshire.
