Welcome 2020! It’s going to be a very busy year…even 2021 looks to be a busy time for weddings. It’s just all so exciting! Couples planning their weddings in 2020 and beyond will have lots of choices. We can say “pick of the trends”, but what’s really a trend? Is it an element so popular that you get tired of looking at it everywhere? Is it something everyone has to have? If you don’t pull off a certain trend, will your wedding not be memorable? I think we all like trends…to see the newest, latest innovations in the wedding world. But I’d like to think of it as wedding inspiration…something that inspires a look, a feel, an element that says “this is me and I’m going to make it my own.” After all, your wedding should be about the two of you, your style, your love and the elements that express who you are and how you want those around you to feel on your special day. It’s an exciting time. So much to consider, to look at, try on, style up and figure out.

I

Words from the Brides...
What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process/How was it to meet all the vendors? In Victoria’s words…My favorite part of the wedding planning process was getting to meet all of the vendors and work with them. Everyone was amazing and beyond accommodating. The process had been surreal, but each time we check in with someone they all ask about the other pieces of the puzzle. Don Muller Gallery took us in without an appointment and after trying on a dozen or so gorgeous rings we found the perfect bands. Ann with Annvitations went above and beyond to make sure our invitations were everything we dreamed of, customizing them with a beautiful backing. Becky at Floral Affairs convinced us to take a leap and get these amazing centerpieces. Cakes by Amanda was our first stop in this adventure and she dreamed up the most brilliant wedding cake!
Victoria & Shienne
Absolute Entertainment - He’s such a great guy and took the time to hear our entire story and walk us through every option and made suggestions.
“EVERYONE WAS AMAZING AND BEYOND
ACCOMMODATING.”
Monika, of Monika Normand Photography is genuine and absolutely wonderful. She sat down with us and went through every facet of the day, and has been ready as things evolved and changed. Love & Perry we’re incredibly exciting to work with, I mean, have you seen their videos on Facebook? They’re lovely. We couldn’t imagine anyone else to capture this once in a lifetime experience. We met with Mary from Liptastic 413 and Beyond. She is just this amazing, hilarious spit fire! She’s was incredibly patient with us trying to schedule around our hectic schedules. We loved how she did our makeup and how attentive she was to our wants/suggestions. Last but not least, I think I can thank Joan and Carly from Hadley Farms for organizing this entire experience. They’ve humored every question or musing we’ve had and been nothing but hospitable and welcoming to us.
The ladies at Bridal Corner were in a crunch but made sure we felt and looked amazing for our day… I’m speaking for myself here (since Shienne insisted we don’t see each other’s gowns)

Victoria & Shienne - Hadley Farms Meeting House
Words from the Wedding Professionals... What words of advice would you share with Victoria and Shienne? Now that you’re married, remember to take time to enjoy your own personal interests and hobbies! You will enjoy the things that brought you together as a couple, like date nights and vacations, but practicing self-care and feeding your soul is just as important! — Caricatures and Fine Art by Allison Litera As an LGBTQ+ couple ourselves, married for 7 years and together for 13, we would give some simple advice to Shienne and Victoria. Let love and light fill your souls! Be each others biggest advocates in life and love. It will take you far. — Love & Perry What was one of the most significant moments for you while participating as a wedding professional at this wedding? Seeing the brides in their gowns, and the happiness on their face, is always a significant moment for us. This one was no different. We love help making dreams come true. — Bridal Corner When Shienne and Victoria danced with Victoria’s dad during her father-daughter dance, I was holding back tears. It was such a beautiful moment to watch Mr. Halsted hold Victoria and Shienne while all three of them danced together. I witnessed quite a few fatherdaughter dances, but theirs by far was one of my all-time favorites. It made me feel so full of joy to watch Shienne and Victoria be so warmly welcomed into each other’s families. — Monika Normand Photography What words of advice would you share with any engaged couple? I tell all my recently engaged couples to allow space in their wedding timelines to enjoy at least a few moments together with their partner, alone and away from the chaos of the wedding day. Whether that time falls during a first look, a quick escape before dinner, or a sunset photo run before the night is over, I think it’s so important to share a peaceful moment with your partner. It’s easy to get caught up in the events of the day and mingling with guests, but make sure you take time for yourselves too. — Monika Normand Photography www.weddingsourcebook.com
Weddings are a special time in our lives. We come together to celebrate and show love and support. Remember those who have given to you. It is not about the perfection of the day, the money or the showiness, but connections we make and continue to make for the rest of our lives. — Hadley Farms Meeting House Why did you get involved in the NoHo Pride Wedding Giveaway? What an honor to be involved in such a heartfelt event! Here at the shop, my staff and I love helping couples find their forever rings, so being asked to be a part of the giveaway and providing the winning couple’s rings was such a treat. — Don Muller Gallery We were happy to get involved with such a vibrant group. We have seen the Pride Group execute the yearly parades over the years with such enthusiasm. Pride is a big part of our community and we wanted to be a part of this community. When Hadley Farms initially met with Cid and Stephanie and some of the other planners of the Gay Pride Parade, they showed us their vision of the type of future within the community they saw for the LGBTQ residents of the Pioneer Valley. They want to grow and connect with the larger community. Hadley Farms is an event facility where people come together to meet and to celebrate. This wedding was a culmination of that vision that we were happy to be a part of. We have to thank the owners of Hadley Farms and the Pioneer Valley Hotel Group, Shardool and Kishore Parmar, who allowed us to give this wedding to the lucky couple! — The Team at the Hadley Farms Meeting House

Tell us about your Business: All Events Realized has 3 components to it. 1. Planning: Full, Medium, Mini (All of which include “Day Of”) 2. Floral, Decor, Set up 3. Rentals and some draping Q. Detail what your services bring to a wedding celebration A standard of excellence and ease. Realizing the vision of the couple and more. Everyone has their unique take on what they want, and my hope is to always elevate the look with ease that won’t break the bank but will make them happy even as they look back 20 years later. I inspire couples who are planning their wedding to think classic or universal, so when they look back at their wedding they’re still happy!!! Q. Tell us about one of the most unique details or touching moments you were ever a part of at a wedding. I got a llama to a backyard wedding. That’s what they wanted during the cocktail hour so the time would go by quickly. That was fun. Just a little “petting zoo” kind of thing the couple wanted and I made it happen for them.

Q. When it comes to your specialty for weddings, what word(s) of advice would you give engaged couples that are planning their wedding? To remember they are getting married and that they need to spend more time on their vows. To enjoy their engagement and trust the professionals they’ve hired. All the professionals want to do is make sure the couple is happy!!!! They are all there for them!!! For Fun: Q. What’s your favorite food? - Sushi Q. If you were a new addition to the crayon box...what color would you be and why? - Tangerine because it is so bright Q. What personally inspires you? Beauty, excellence, creativity, color combos. Q. How do you spend your down time? What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working so hard? Food and Friends. Ballroom dancing, wine tastings and movies!

New Ways To Change Up Traditions! You may know many “old” traditions that happen at weddings that can bring a feeling of “I must do that..” because my family expects that or isn’t that the way it must be done? Sure, you can keep some traditions such as a father-daughter dance, cutting the cake, or even the standard sit-down meal, but couples are changing things up for their wedding. Even our local wedding professionals and businesses are on the forefront of change. Many new elements that are making weddings less about formal traditions but more about giving couples new ways to put their own style and spin on their wedding. The ceremony is the most important part of the wedding day. Couples are going with a shorter ceremony with personally written, meaningful vows. Most couples include a reading by someone special and surprisingly, most ceremonies are 20 minutes in length or less. The style of the ceremony can set the tone of the wedding. Brenda from Hamel’s Catering says, “Outdoor ceremonies with a can have benches instead of chairs or a woodsy feel with laid back tree stumps wrapped with fabric.”
with their family and friends sitting with them instead of at their own table. We love this concept! Bringing in the barn and farm theme, farm tables have been extremely popular for their style and for family style tables!” Holding on to memories of the day are especially personalized. “Guestbooks are often not books at all these days. Couples choose items with significance to them and ask their guests to personalize them. We’ve seen a globe with all the places a couple has traveled, a bench handmade by the groom, a poster with a cartoon drawing of the couple, and of course, a giant champagne bottle to be opened on their one-year anniversary,” say Erin Witmer of the Boylston Rooms. The ever-popular photo booths are getting more personalized props and unique options for sharable images. Brenda says, “consider hiring an artist to paint your special day. Let them create a masterpiece that you will have for a lifetime to hang in your home.”
Keeping with less formality, fewer brides are asking their bridesmaids to wear the same identical bridesmaid dress. Sometimes it’s just about comfort and fun, complimenting the bride, but with some guidelines on formality. “We’ve seen some amazing vintage-inspired lace wedding dresses this season that are so beautiful! They have all the beauty of an antique dress, with modern design,” says Erin Witmer of the Boylston Rooms. Also with the wedding party in mind, more than onethird of couples are having a more gender-fluid wedding party. It’s about relationships and who is important to the couple, not about traditional roles. Most couples will choose the bridesmaids/bridesmen, groomsmen/groomswomen, maid or man of honor and best man or woman based on which relationships they want to honor. Weddings are sharing the celebration of marriage and having a great reception is always key to a memorable wedding. Couples are bringing their own style and even themes to their celebration! “We’re in New England so for your menu consider a New England theme which can include lobster rolls and clam chowder at cocktail hour or for a themed main meal,” says Brenda Lee of Hamel’s Catering. “Entertain your guests outside during cocktail hour with stations of lawn games set up around the area and let your guests mingle.” Melissa Sullivan of Michael’s Party Rentals added that “Family style head tables are becoming the new sweetheart tables. Couples are opting to share their first meal as newlyweds www.weddingsourcebook.com
