RACENIGHT SATURDAY 10 JULY 2021

WELCOME Welcome one and all to our Ecosave Installations Racenight. Getting out and about on a Saturday evening again is something we have all looked forward to doing for so long and so it is great to have you all with us on this popular Saturday evening of racing. Tickets for tonight went quickly meaning we were sold out in record time. I’d like to welcome everyone from Ecosave Installations, our new sponsor this evening, not only to tonight but to the Hamilton Park family. We are all delighted to be working with you and I’m sure many of the racegoers here tonight will be keen to benefit from the forward thinking energy-efficiency-solutions you provide to homes throughout Scotland and the UK. The races sponsored by Ecosave Installations this evening both look to be exciting competitions. The Handicap (Class 5) at 6.20pm has two recent Hamilton Park winners in the field, Michael Mullineaux’s Shesadabber, and Liam Bailey’s Stronsay both compete. Then the Ecosave Installations ‘Scotland’s Energy Saving Specialists’ Handicap (Class 4) at 6.50pm, our feature race of the card, sees a field of seven super sprinters including After John trained by Harvey Bastiman who we give a very warm welcome to as his sister, Rebecca who so sadly passed away in March this year, was always a welcomed face here at Hamilton Park with her runners and fantastic team of staff. Good luck Harvey. Off the track, we had some most appreciated news this week which allows us to welcome half of our full capacity which is up to 6,000 to Ladies’ Night on Saturday 31 July. It has been a long time since we have had a crowd of this size here at Hamilton Park, in fact it was in August 2019 and so a full two years have passed us all by since such an occasion. We have great plans for the evening both on the track and off it. Just today we have had approval to re-stage at Ladies’ Night, the Almada Mile race which was sadly abandoned on 29 June, and there will be plenty of fashion and sponsored bars outdoors for you all to enjoy. Please make sure you book your tickets quickly as both hospitality and general racecourse admission tickets are going like hot cakes! On a week-end of super sport with the Wimbledon finals, and the Euros final, start it off with a great evening tonight here with us. Kind regards, VIVIEN CURRIE MBE, CHIEF EXECUTIVE

about FIVE FURLONGS (5f abt 7yds) (1000m)

Second Race

6.20p.m. THE ECOSAVE INSTALLATIONS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) RACE DESCRIPTION

This is a five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.

RACE DESCRIPTION

This is a six furlong handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 61 to 80. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.

Ayr Empress should have a leading role to play if her stamina holds out, while Love of Zoffany has to be taken seriously, too. Sixth Race

8.20p.m. THE UNDER 18’S RACE FREE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) RACE DESCRIPTION

This is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.

RACE STATISTICS
