THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse. A very warm welcome to Nottingham for this relaxed evening of racing, which features six compelling races before sunset. We would like to thank Ron Macdonald for his generous sponsorship of the Ronaldinho's 70th Birthday Handicap, our fifth race on the card. We are also grateful to Racing TV for its ongoing support of British racing. With no form to go on in the Watch On Racing TV Restricted Novice Stakes, much attention should be paid to the pedigrees of the horses lining up, as well as trainer and jockey form. While this race is limited to horses who were sold at a public auction for no more than £30,000 (Bands D and C), plenty of newcomers who have run well at Nottingham have gone on to future success, so it worth keeping an eye on those who perform well. We are pleased to have been able to introduce a number of changes at Nottingham during the winter months, including work to improve the facilities for racing staff and upgrading our Owners and Trainers space. I hope that both of these areas provide a better experience for two extremely important groups of people, without whom racing could not take place. I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable evening here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck.

PLAY SMARTER

This has the makings of a very strong maiden, with some quality pedigrees on show and excellent stables represented. AIMERIC represents a red-hot stable and is bred to be at least useful, so he is marginally preferred to Space Odyssey, who has a superb middle-distance pedigree but might not be quite as tuned up. Sooghan is the clear pick of those with experience.

G N I C RAEEDS N OU Y TheGamblingActreview Email your MP in less than a minute - we can all make a difference! We absolutely support the objectives of protecting vulnerable individuals from gambling-related harm, but it is imperative that any new legislation is proportionate, targeted and evidence-based and will not result in any unintended economic consequences to British horse racing. As a supporter of horseracing, we urge you to make your MP aware that you do not want any future gambling regulation to affect your civil liberties and freedom to choose how you spend your time and money enjoying horseracing. Potential measures could include affordability checks and limits on how much you can stake and deposit.

Simply: 1. Visit racingtv.eaction.org.uk/GamblingReview 2. Enter your postcode to find your MP 3. Put your name to a prepared letter The process is straightforward and will take less than a minute to complete, but could make a real difference to the future of the sport.

PLAY SMARTER

GANGWAY was much improved when easily making all at Wolverhampton last month and is nicely drawn to try and pull off similar tactics again. The hat-trick seeking Solanna will be a major threat if able to translate recent AW improvement to the grass. Fearless Bay struck on handicap debut last November and should also have a part to play if ready to roll after 5 months off.

Health And Safety Notice The Racecourse would be grateful if you would observe all Health & Safety requirements whilst you are at Nottingham Racecourse. The emergency exits from the bars onto the grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would request that you do not stop whilst in this area. We would also request that only those that are disabled use the disabled viewing ramp and that parents keep a close eye on all children and prevent them from climbing the running rails and getting on to the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the first aid room is located on the ground floor of the Centenary Stand.

Behaviour And Dress Code The Dress Code in the Premier Enclosure is smart casual - no untidy denim, t-shirts, trainers, or fancy dress, only tailored shorts are acceptable. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to the Premier Enclosure to patrons failing to comply with the above request.

Racehorse & Jockey Welfare All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials are here to ensure that the racecourse delivers those standards. In addition Nottingham Racecourse employs two veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey.

Dogs No dogs are permitted on the Racecourse with the exception of assistance dogs. Food & Drink Alcohol, glass bottles and glass/china receptacles must not be brought onto the Racecourse. Picnics are permitted on the Grandstand trackside lawn only. Prize Money The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides for the inclusion of £811,269 at this Racecourse in 2022.

If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.

Media Coverage All Attendees are reminded that many races and fixtures are given coverage on television, radio, online and in print, as well as by the racecourse in its own marketing literature. By entering the racecourse, attendees are accepting that they may appear in such broadcast and print coverage or in literature produced by the racecourse itself. Accordingly, attendees shall have no right to object to their inclusion in any such material. Each attendee will give any additional consents or waivers required for the unrestricted lawful use of any coverage (if any) without request for payment or imposing any other conditions.
