WELCOME Thank you for supporting our fixture today, we hope that many of you are able to join us. We have had to alter many of our facilities and currently owners will be separated from race day workers (trainers, stable staff, jockeys, officials, media etc.), who have undergone a more rigorous health screening process. For infection control purposes, no movement will be permitted between the two areas of the Racecourse. Some trainers are also owners and so have registered to be on the owners zone they will not however move between the two zones. We also plan to allow access to the first floor of the grandstand which is normally the Gallery Restaurant and externally to the end of the paddock. In the grandstand you will find seating, TVs, tea/ coffee/ cakes/ sandwiches and wraps served to your table and a bar. There will also be 2 bookmakers near the parade ring and a Tote counter on the first floor of the grandstand. Presentations & Race cards. We are able to make presentations, which will take place at the end of the paddock. Winning owners will also be offered a drink and the opportunity to see a rerun of the race. Winning owners not present will receive their memento by post. We also have the course photographer on site and he may be contacted via his website www. sdphotos.co.uk All owners may also request a card and copy of the race from the racecourse office after the race day. Please phone or email to order a copy. Basic race cards will be available on arrival at the course and they will also be emailed to all owners of declared horses. Despite the restrictions we look forward to welcoming you back to Stratford and we hope in time that we can return to our normal operations. If you have any questions or queries please do get in touch via email or phone. With best wishes,

HORSE WELFARE “Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider”. Like most sports racing carries risks, however, we work to make sure that no death or injury occurs, which could have been prevented. Here at Stratford Racecourse we are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries, and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care. At every meeting we have two specially qualified Equine Vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. There is also a British Horseracing Authority Vet in attendance. During the race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating the injured jockeys. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected round the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.
