C Directions: Read the text below. Then read the questions that follow it and circle the letter of the correct answer (A, B, C or D).

Appearance and Personality How we look can be important. People tend to describe us by mentioning our hair colour, eye colour and build. But how we look isn’t everything. What’s inside matters just as much. What does your personality say about you? Are you friendly and talkative? Or maybe you’re energetic and funny? Our personality determines our character, rather than our appearance, which is simply how we look. When people meet us for the first time, they often notice how we look and then make judgements about our character. But they may be completely wrong. The serious-looking boy in your Maths class could actually be quite funny. Your chatterbox friend might be really quiet at home. It takes time to get to know someone’s personality and character, but when we do, we begin to understand what kind of a person they are. Both appearance and personality make up who we are. When you meet someone for the first time, try not to form too many impressions based on how they look. You never know, the new girl who looks quiet and shy might turn out to be your new loud and energetic best friend!
