The Farragut Parks & Recreation Department provides award-winning facilities and programming for all ages.

This includes community-wide special events and programs/classes, from yoga to toddler takeover to arts and crafts. Facilities include the Farragut Community Center, fi ve parks and the Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza at the Campbell Station Inn. Farragut also boasts a robust network of greenways and sidewalks. FARRAGUT COMMUNITY CENTER 239 Jamestowne Blvd:

The community center off ers space for programming and rentals, including two classrooms, a middle school-sized gymnasium with a stage and the Assembly Hall – an event venue that can seat 144 at tables as well as a pre-function area and catering kitchen. The building also houses the West Knox County Senior Center on the lower level.

PARKS:

The Town has fi ve distinctive parks, as well as the Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza. Many have amenities that can be reserved by contacting the Parks & Recreation Department at 865-2183376

• Anchor Park, 11730 Turkey Creek Road

A 19-acre, family-friendly park, Anchor Park is located adjacent to the lakefront. The Town’s fi rst park off ers opportunities for picnicking, fi shing, playground fun or quiet areas to simply read or relax. This park closes at dusk.

Facilities: fi shing pond, horseshoe pit, paved walk trail (0.8 mi), playground, recreational basketball court, rectangular fi eld, diamond fi eld, two accessible fi shing piers, four picnic pavilions and restroom.

• Blue Cross Healthy Place at Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive

An inclusive, multi-generational play space that includes a ramped playground with freestanding play elements like an accessible merry-go-round, musical instruments, a swing area with inclusive swing seats, a community pavilion with picnic tables, and a fi tness station. This park closes at dusk.

• Founders Park at Campbell Station, 405 N. Campbell Station Road

This passive, 17-acre park is adjacent to the Farragut Branch of the Knox County Library.

Facilities: two picnic pavilions with grills, lighted paved walk trail (0.4 mile), unlighted paved trail on the west side of Turkey Creek (0.67-mile loop), mulched walk trails (0.25 mile in fi ve segments), Community Heritage trail, bronze sculptures and restroom.

Special events: Founders Park at Campbell Station is available for rent to nonprofi t organizations seeking to hold a special event that falls within the guidelines of the Town of Farragut’s Special Event Ordinance. Organizations should call 865-218-3376 for more information.

• Mayor Bob Leonard Park, 301 Watt Road

One of the premier sports complexes in the region, Mayor Bob Leonard Park is a 50-acre multi-use facility off ering athletic and recreational opportunities for a variety of activities. The

wetlands area at the center of the park, encircled by a lighted walk trail, is a unique feature. All facilities are lighted.

Facilities: fi ve rectangular fi elds (three synthetic), four diamond fi elds, playground, covered picnic table, paved walk trails (up to 0.9-mile loop ADA accessible, or one-mile loop with incline), three sand volleyball courts and two restrooms.

• Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza, 11409 Kingston Pike

Located behind the historic Campbell Station Inn, the 1.5acre lighted plaza features a restroom, park-like open areas, benches, interpretive signage and parking. The outdoor space is available for rent.

• McFee Park, 917 McFee Road

The Town’s newest park is a 51+ acre multi-use facility featuring green elements including solar panels, permeable pavers, LED lighting, bioswales/rain gardens and natural light in the restrooms. All facilities are lighted.

Current facilities: two rectangular fi elds (not available for lacrosse due to proximity to walking trails), playground, walk trails, splashpad, two large picnic pavilions, one special event pavilion, Great Lawn, four tennis/eight pickleball courts, one basketball court and three restrooms.

GREENWAYS: Farragut boasts over 25 segments of greenway trails, totaling approximately 20 miles, that connect neighborhoods and provide great places to ride a bike, walk, run and roller blade. Public parking is available at the Town’s four longest trails. Many of the links are connected by streetways. • Grigsby Chapel Greenway - 2.4-mile asphalt trail

Located on Grigsby Chapel Road, the trail connects many of the neighborhood subdivisions, condos and apartments north of this road. An additional 0.25-mile segment, located behind Farragut Primary School, connects the trail at the corner of Grigsby Chapel Road to Founders Park at Campbell Station. Parking is available at the Town’s commuter lot located at 11700 Campbell Lakes Drive (off Campbell Station Road) or Founders Park. This greenway is connected by neighborhood streets and a sidewalk to an additional 0.9-mile greenway along Everett Road.

• McFee Greenway - 1.5-mile asphalt trail with additional segment in Cottages at Pryse Farm subdivision

Located along McFee Road, the trail connects Bridgemore, McFee Manor and the Cottages at Pryse Farm subdivisions with McFee Park. Parking is available at McFee Park.

• Parkside Greenway - 2-mile asphalt trail

Located along Parkside Drive, the greenway runs parallel to Interstate 40/75 from Lovell Road to the sidewalk on the northwest portion of Parkside Drive. Parking is available at designated spaces in the parking lot of At Home on Parkside Drive.

• Turkey Creek Greenway - 1.6-mile asphalt trail with an additional 0.3-mile spur

Located on Turkey Creek Road, the trail connects Brixworth, Kingsgate and Sailview subdivisions with Anchor Park. Parking is available at Anchor Park.
