“Safecation” Trend Creates Boom for Beach Resorts What will the travel landscape look like in the postpandemic era? Will consumers be willing to travel, and if so, which destinations will be in-demand? WebBeds is ready to answer these questions by revealing one of the rising travel trends for 2021. By studying the most searched-for places on its booking platforms, WebBeds’ analysts found that so-called “safecations” are rising in popularity, as travellers seek out natural outdoor spaces, including beaches. This trend can be observed worldwide, with destinations such as Benidorm in Spain, Cancun in Mexico and Side in Turkey experiencing higher than usual bookings. Of course, all travel is dependent on each country’s border restrictions, but this article offers a guide to which beach resorts in Asia Pacific could lead the region’s tourism revival.

Hospitality Strikes Back: Asia Pacific Welcomes New and Reopened Hotels The global pandemic had a devastating impact on the hospitality industry, as thousands of hotels and resorts worldwide were forced to close their doors. But the underlying strength of the sector is undiminished, and it is wonderful to see so many hoteliers now reopening, and even brand new properties emerging on the scene. Naturally, every hotel adheres to the highest health and safety standards to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We hope to welcome many more guests – including international travellers – back to Asia Pacific in 2021. Here is a rundown of the region’s newly-launched or recently-reopened hotels and resorts:
