Why am I at St. Andrew’s School? I am Chloé. I was born in Buenos Aires, like my mom and dad. My grandfather was born in France, and my grandmother in Germany. When I was two and three years old, my parents lived together in a big house. They found a small kindergarten that was about three blocks away from our home. It was really near. The kindergarten is called “The Puppies”. I still love it because it was quite small but one day of the week they brought some animals. For example I remember the day they brought big white sheep! It was really fun there… The kindergarten was only for two and three year old kids so when I became four, I went to another school. It is called “All Saints”… They chose it because all my friends of The Puppies Kindergarten were moving in there, so as not to lose all my companions. But my Mom didn’t really like the school… and as I didn’t mind going to another one, she put me on the waiting list of St. Andrew’s (as there was not any space). Now… Why St. Andrew’s School? (I didn’t even know English, I had to learn with a private teacher during my vacations). My Dad had gone to an international school in Switzerland, so he wanted to do the exact things with his kids. My mom liked the part that I would learn at least two languages. Both totally agreed that the sports St. Andrew’s offers is great (for example they like the team work of hockey and rugby), and they love the enormous field (in Punta Chica). But the most important thing for them was the high academic level because of the super teachers. My parents were also really happy because of the school possibilities to socialize: we play almost every week against a school in a sport, or other activities. People come from many places of the world. Some extra things my parents love about my school are: the option to do drama and the freedom of being of any religion and believing in what you want to.

Sofia: Why did you choose St. Andrew’s Scots School for me?

Mom: The main reason why I decided to send my son and daughters to St. Andrew’s is because I wanted to offer them the best possible education. St. Andrew’s is one of the best bilingual schools in Argentina. And I was sure this was the correct decision, I am a former pupil, and have the most excellent memories and experiences as a student. Sofia: Can you talk about these excellent memories and experiences? Mom: Yes, some of the things I liked most about this school were the different extra-curricular activities. I took part in the plays, played hockey and enjoyed each and every one of them. Sofia: What do you think was the best thing St. Andrew’s gave you? Mom: If I have to explain what St. Andrew´s gave me it would definitely be mainly lots of friends. Nowadays we are still in touch, and with some of them we are sharing our own kids’ experiences in our school. I am sure and I am very pleased to say that together with my husband we made an excellent decision. Bianca and Vicky: But why did you choose this one out of many other schools?

Mom: First of all because it is very well known for students have good marks and also because your brother (Bianca’s) was already there. Your father (Vicky’s) is a former pupil. Another reason, and the most important, is because all of the kids treat each other very well.
