WHY OUR PARENTS SEND US TO SASS
Marcos: Hi, dad. Dad: Hi, son. Marcos: Today I’m going to ask you one thing. Dad: Ok, ask me. Marcos: Why did you and mom send me to St. Andrew’s Scots School? Dad: We sent you to St. Andrew’s because it is an excellent school, it has very good teachers, and also because when we chose Punta Chica we liked the huge and beautiful field. Marcos: Ah, and what do you mean by saying that it is an “excellent school”? Dad: That it has very good teachers and also because it teaches you excellent English… Marcos: Ah, OK… thank you Dad: You’re welcome bye…
Lucas: Why do I go to Saint Andrew´s? Nathalie: Because we looked for a school with an academic excellence, IB and IGCSE exams that allow you to have the opportunity to study in universities in other countries, in Europe or the States. We also looked for a school that was co-ed and with no religion. Another reason for our choice was that your dad went to this school when he was your age. Lucas: And why did he go to this school? Nathalie: Because your grandparents are British and they wanted a school that had a very good education and also a school that had very good English. Lucas: And what school did you go to? Nathalie: I went to the Lycee Jean Mermoz, also known as the “Liceo Francés”. Lucas: Why did you send me to Saint Andrew´s and not to the Lycee Jean Mermoz? Nathalie: Because my school didn´t have such a good English and it doesn´t have sports, another reason for our choice. Lucas: Are you happy with your decision? Nathalie: Yes, I think that it has satisfied our expectations. Saint Andrew´s provides you a very complete education and offers you many possibilities within the different areas of interest: Choir, band, art…
Guadalupe: Why did you decide that I was going to go to St Andrew’s Scots School? Mother: There are many reasons… one is because I am an ex student and all your cousins go to this school because it has many extracurricular activities that are really good, such as the opportunity for you to learn French, Chinese or Portuguese. Students learn to speak English since kindergarten which I think is really useful. Guada: And why did your parents decide you would go to St Andrew’s?
Mother: I never really talk about this with them, but I think it would be because at time I was little there were very few schools where English was an obligatory subject and my parents really wanted me and my brothers to have that knowledge. Guada: Do you have good memories about St Andrew’s? Mother: Yes, that is also one of the reasons I chose St Andrew’s for my daughters … I want you to have good memories as well.
Santino: Why do I come to SASS? Father: We send you to SASS for many reasons. First, the great academic level, in my opinion, SASS is one of the best schools in Argentina academically. Second is English. English is an international language that is spoken all around the world. Also, most of the former pupils of SASS have great English. Third the modern foreign languages. I think it’s great to have the option of a third language, not many schools offer it. I am really glad you chose Portuguese because in Brazil, which is a neighbor country, Portuguese is spoken. I don’t regret having chosen SASS. Mother: We send you to SASS mostly because all your family went to SASS and everybody in this family is really successful. Also, the third language is something that very few schools in Argentina offer, unfortunately y wanted you to choose French because your grandfather comes from France, but I still think that Portuguese is a good choice. I also investigated about education: I know a lot of former students and they are all really kind, honest and generous. I am really happy for having you at SASS.
