The College Library holds an extensive range of set course texts and background reading material for all college programmes. Library texts are easily accessed via the online Library catalogue available through the College website. As well as the large range of up to date texts we have thousands of online books. Online books are the quickest way to get access to the most up to date computing references. Texts not held on site can be ordered through our inter-library loans service. The Tripartite MSc may be completed in four semesters. Applicants should have a primary degree at honours 2:1 level or higher, or an appropriate postgraduate qualification in a business related discipline. Each Institution will recruit 12 students for the annual intake in September, and the combined cohort will experience academic life, business life and student life in each of the three major European cities. This programme will be presented over four semesters, with all students being in Berlin for Semester 1, in Dublin for Semester 2 and in Paris for Semester 3. In Semester 4 students will undertake their dissertation project at one of the three institutions. Their master’s dissertation will be jointly supervised by two supervisors. Each student, with appropriate advice, will determine which two awards he or she would most appropriately qualify. About the Programme The LL.M. (Master of Laws) is an internationally recognised postgraduate law degree. It is obtained by completing a one-year full-time programme. The three LLMs on offer in Griffith College allow students to focus on an aspect of law that is of particular interest to them; International Law, Human Rights and Commercial Law. However, opportunities for specialisation go beyond just selecting one of these options, as all three are sub-divided, to afford students an even greater range of choices. This is particularly true of the LLM General: a student could take a human rights specialisation, or a commercial specialisation (to take two random examples) within this programme.

About the Programme Griffith College Professional Law School offers this course on a part-time basis over two years. A Certificate in Professional Legal Studies will awarded on successful completion of the first year, with a Diploma in Professional Legal Studies being awarded on successful completion of the second year. This course is also offered by the College’s Undergraduate Law School as a one-year, full-time programme. In both cases you’ll be assured of a highly supportive environment throughout your studies. Detailed manuals covering each area of academic study are provided at the commencement of the term. These manuals minimise the need for note-taking and enable a tutorial style approach to be taken in lectures. About the Programme The course target audience will be qualified discipline experts interested in training and teaching within their own area of expertise. The participants at entry level to this course will already have a very high degree of expertise in their own specialist field; in general this will be a Level 9 or higher qualification. They will have a depth of understanding of the paradigms in their own disciplines and consequently they will bring authoritative levels of academic and professional engagement to the process; they will expect to be challenged and to engage at a similar level in the educational field. Bearing this in mind, the participants will be expected to apply an advanced academic and intellectual approach to this course from the outset. They will be expected to understand the value of underpinning good practice with sound theoretical foundations. They will be referred to the apposite research and literature and required to read extensively; and to demonstrate an ability to evaluate, relate and apply this theoretical basis in practice The course aims to develop the ability of the participants to identify, select and apply dynamic and engaging pedagogy appropriate to the needs of their audience, and to justify their choice in the light of current theoretical and research literature. The course presents an environment where participants gain a systematic understanding of teaching and training knowledge at the forefront of the teaching and learning field, and insight into the context of learning as it relates to programme design and delivery. Participants will be expected to develop excellent training practices, which should be part of a continuous reflective development plan to be continued long after the course has been completed. It is envisaged that this course will introduce participants to a ‘change of life’ experience within their professional life that will sustain ongoing reflective practice and development. About the Programme This programme is designed for the contemporary practitioner in instrumental music education, whether teaching in a school or running a practice or studio. In today’s society, a career in music education requires a broad range of disparate skills: a high level of mastery in performance; a thorough knowledge of music theory; an understanding of the theory of music teaching and learning and a practical working knowledge of music technology. Furthermore, music teachers require skills in management, business and arts organisation, as their work often takes them outside of the classroom through organising concerts, competitions and stage shows. The programme recognises that music education has to be relevant to young and mature learners, and to their ethnic culture, life experience and the popular culture to which they are exposed. To this end the programme will facilitate and encourage performance in several genres – classical, traditional, non- Western, jazz and popular music.

Extended Application Closing Dates: Applicants to all postgraduate programmes may apply directly to Griffith College until August 31st each year. For some programmes, applications may even be accepted after this date.

Flexible Modes of Delivery: Griffith College offers a range of postgraduate programmes in full and part time(evening) modes. For most programmes, there are embedded or exit stage awards which give students the flexibility to break and return to the programme at certain junctures. There is also the possibility of gaining certification after each semester and/ or individual module certification in some programmes.
