WELCOME MESSAGE Dear Sindbad member, Oman Air now reaches out to the world with pride and passion through its new colours. The first aircraft with our new livery joined our fleet on 24th Feb 2008. The unveiling ceremony was indeed a moment to celebrate for all of us. I look at this as a turning point in the way we fly and the way we are perceived by the world. This complete makeover on our part is also an indication to you - our esteemed patron, to keep expecting better and more from us. In continuing with our efforts to maintain Sindbad as the friendliest frequent flyer programme in the skies, I feel privileged to inform you of your loyalty programme’s achievement in being voted by Airline Information as the third most innovative Frequent Flier Programme in the world, making us the first in the region. The criteria for this award

Explore Kuala Lumpur

Discover Bangalore

Take off to Calicut

Bangalore, the ‘Garden City of India’ with its many gardens and boulevards ranks as one of the fastest growing cities in Asia. With many multinational IT companies setting up their offices here and the rich technical talent found locally, it has earned itself the reputation of being India’s ‘Silicon City’ as well. And of course, Bangalore fashions over 200 Pubs and is popularly known as the ‘Pub City’, especially amongst youngsters. Not to mention, its pleasant climate and laid-back charm attracts many senior citizens and thus it is also called ‘the retired man's paradise’. A multifaceted city, Bangalore also has a rich past and heritage for travellers to explore. Oman Air will fly 6 times a week between Muscat and Bangalore starting mid May 2008.

Kuala Lumpur, or ‘KL’ as it is commonly known, is the focal point of modern Malaysia. While the city's past is still present in the evocative British colonial buildings of the Dataran Merdeka and the midnight lamps of the Petaling Street night market, that past is everywhere met with insistent reminders of KL's present and future. The city's bustling streets, its shining modern office towers, and its cosmopolitan culture project an unbounded spirit of progress. As the entry point for most visitors and the meeting point of Malaysia’s many attractions, Kuala Lumpur is a grand gateway to a fascinating destination. Oman Air will start operating non-stop daily flights between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur from June 2008.

Calicut, known as Kozhikode in the native language, was the traditional capital of Northern Kerala in India under the Samuthiri rule. Calicut, the most important city of Malabar region of Kerala, was a leading trading centre for spices on the West Coast of India during the medieval period. Calicut’s commercial glory was also praised by the Arab traveller Abdur Razzak in 1443 A.D. Today it remains an important trading centre for timber and tiles, and a hunting ground for that famous delicacy ‘Calicut halwa’. Interestingly, Kozhikode has also lent its English name, Calicut, to `calico', the fine variety of hand-woven cotton cloth said to have originated here. Effective June 2008, Oman Air will start operating daily flights between Muscat and Calicut.
