Hello and thanks for inquiring about our athletic club The following pages provide a over view of our club Please stop by our club for a personal tour We are located in Freeland on beautiful Whidbey Island, Island Athletic Club is a private athletic club with programs and equipment to accommodate members of all ages and all levels of exercise experience. From complimentary personal training for every new member to convenient amenities such as steam rooms, saunas and day lockers, Island Athletic Club strives to exceed your expectations beginning the day you walk through our doors. We believe in earning your business through quality programming and customer service. Island Athletic Club offers a variety of memberships designed to meet specific needs. Aquatics Program Island Athletic Club provides members with a twenty-five yard, heated indoor pool. A variety of activities are offered including: Swimming Lessons South Whidbey Swim Club Water Exercise Classes Masters Swimming UV Comfort UV refers to the method used for disinfecting the pool. In addition to of conventional chlorine methods. The new E-UV system uses ultra-violet light to disinfect and break down chloramines as water passes through the filtration system. Our salt-water pool is sparkling clean and gentler on the skin, eyes, hair and respiratory system. Family Swim Program Children age 8-16 may use the pool during family swim times without a parent being present. IAC pool attendant will provide supervision. Both the child and parent must sign a new Superkids form (available at the Service Desk) to qualify for the program. This increases the hours for this age group to use the pool, allowing the parents to work out too. Age infant to 8: Parent must accompany child in the pool and provide continuous supervision for the child, even if an IAC staff person is present.

We Offer Many Group Exercise Programs Island Athletic Club strives to provide our members with the best possible group exercise experience! Our diverse selection of classes includes options for all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. With spacious studios, state-of-the-art sound systems, and inspirational, experienced instructors, we’ve created an ideal mixture of fitness and fun. So grab a water bottle and join us at the class of your choice. You’re in for a rocking good time. Updated group exercise schedules are available at the club and also online approximately 5 days prior to the end of each month. Please check for changes regularly.

Physical Therapy

Our specially trained health care professionals promote healing by reducing pain, increasing range of motion and strength, decreasing inflammation and improving posture and body mechanics. We are dedicated to restoring function and improving quality of life for each individual client through personalized treatment and exercise plans. We have access to a full range of strength and fitness equipment, as well as an Olympic size indoor/outdoor swimming pool. This, along with a full compliment of weight training and aerobics equipment, provides for a full range of treatment programs. Island Athletic Club offers a variety of services including: Personal Training Massage Somatics Have fun and improve your endurance doing cardio! Cardio is a key component in any fitness program and we can help you direct your energies to the most effective workout for your needs. 

Personal Training can be an extremely effective way to make exercise work for YOU. Personal training offers the elements of accountability, efficiency, inspiration, and safety that can make all the difference in the world when it comes to results and the enjoyment of exercise. The one on one attention makes time fly by. You have fun while you work harder and more effectively than you would on your own. Our competition racket ball court has a glass back wall for viewing. Player lists are available to assist you in finding partners for competitive or recreational play. All members may use the court with 24 hour reservation limits and court fee. Racquet club members have 48 hour reservation privileges and pay no fees. Locker rooms and Showers A clean, well-equipped locker room is important to us and our members. Ours are well-lighted and well-ventilated. Hydronic heat (warm water circulating through tubes in the floor) keeps your feet warm while your head stays cool. Each locker room has a sauna, a steam room, and stall showers complete with hair and body wash. Day lockers are provided at no charge. Hot tubs Saunas Steam Rooms A soaking tub is located adjacent to the indoor pool. We also have an outdoor Jacuzzi tub with views of mature fir, cedar and maple trees.

Muscle Strength Muscle strength and muscle mass is an extremely important aspect of health and fitness. Muscles burn calories and support and stabilize joints. Our trainers are here to help you establish a complete program that works for you. They are always available to answer questions about technique, to instruct you on a new piece of equipment, or just to offer encouragement. For even faster results hire a Personal Trainer.
