PLAN STRATEGIC
Universidad de las Américas Puebla’s strategic plan for the 2013-2023 period derives from the institution’s vision which gives life to its current mission. This mission unfolds into strategic guidelines, whose objectives and actions must be geared towards key principles, promoting a way of life based on institutional values.
STRATEGIC GUIDELINES
UDLAP’s mission is based on the seven strategic guidelines specified below
I. Relevant Study Plans
Quality licenciatura and graduate study plans, online and on-site, that meet the needs and expectations of public and private organizations as well as society, based on the professional development of our graduates.
II. Prestigious Faculty
Professors with national and international recognition derived from their academic training, professional development, teaching, research and/or artistic creation experience.
III. Research and Artistic Creation
The development of research and artistic creation projects has as an objective to create groundbreaking knowledge that impacts on training superior human resources, whose results and products can be presented, disseminated and/or published in different forums.
IV. Excellent Students
Students known for their knowledge, learning experience, competencies, and social responsibility, which give them a professional, personal, cultural, and athletic development in a plural environment during their years at the university, to meet the quality and excellence standards required by public and private organizations as well as society.
V. Outreach
Creation of national and international networks with alumni, public and private organizations, and society to promote collaborations with mutual benefits.
VI. Administrative Efficiency
Optimal management of human, financial, and material resources for the financial stability necessary to meet objectives and for the continuous growth of the institution.

Actions with global perspective that foster multi-culturalism and strengthen the prestige of the institution beyond borders.

An ethical behavior, a philosophy of social commitment and responsibility with the environment.
VALUES
Values determine how UDLAP community members must behave; they are included in the organic statute and described in the code of ethics.
a. Freedom with Responsibility
Members of the university community will behave with freedom of criteria and creativity, exercising their freedom of thought, research, and expression with responsibility. The university community will promote freedom of research and teaching as the foundations for the creation of knowledge.
b. Tolerance and Non-discrimination
Real knowledge is created and shared only in an environment of mutual respect for people, opinions, and diversity. The university community will strive for plurality in an environment of respect, strictly rejecting any discrimination motivated by ethnic or national origin, gender, age, disabilities, social or economic condition, health, religion, opinions, preferences, marital state or any other that violates human dignity.
c. Honesty and Integrity
Members of the university community are committed to seeking justice and to behave accordingly, and to act with integrity.
d. Solidarity
The university community will collaborate in conducting joint actions in favor of itself and its environment.
e. Transparency
Members of the university community are committed to sharing knowledge according to the activities related to their functions, and to provide accurate, complete, clear and opportune information through dissemination mechanisms appropriate to the circumstances.
To achieve UDLAP’s Vision, five priority objectives have been established for 2023.
I. Financial Stability
Generate the necessary resources to guarantee the university’s sustainability, with income diversification and its efficient use to attract and retain the best human capital. Maintain adequate levels of investment in technology and facilities, as well as the financial support systems and programs to develop society.
II. Academic Prestige
Strengthen academic recognition via a faculty that has outstanding professional experience in teaching and research, as well as accredited academic programs that respond to today’s global reality, achieving an integral formation of excellent students and graduates.
III. Institutional Prestige
Position UDLAP in Mexico and Latin America as one of the best private universities in the creation of applied research and an opinion leader in specialized topics.
IV. Outreach with Society and Companies
Strengthen UDLAP’s outreach with graduates, companies, and society to attract resources for research and social programs, positioning the institution and creating opportunities for student and graduate placements.
V. Organizational Capital
Create a work environment that fosters an adequate organizational environment to function efficiently and effectively, and staff with the highest technical skills who meet the competencies described in UDLAP´s collaborator profile.
YEARLY PLAN
Therefore, every yearly plan includes collective goals defined by all UDLAP areas, and each one must positively impact on achieving the priority objectives defined for each period.
