Weddington United Methodist Church
Connections Winter 2019
INTENTIONALLY GROWING IN FAITH
Our mission is to fulfill our call to be the physical presence of Jesus Christ...
by worshipping God with passion, intentionally growing in faith, proclaiming the gospel with grace, and humbly serving in love.
www.weddingtonchurch.org
Our goal for Adult Ministries at Weddington Church is to create opportunities that will allow you to intentionally grow in your faith. In addition to finding a worship service that is meaningful, we encourage everyone to find a place of connection through a small group experience. As Weddington UMC continues to grow and remain faithful to our call of discipleship, it is important that we build personal connections through Bible Studies, Life Groups, Sunday Classes, or one of the other opportunities that we offer for spiritual growth. This booklet is designed to help you find a group that is a good fit for you. If you would like help in finding ways to intentionally grow in your faith, please contact Patsy Sorrell, Director of Adult Discipleship.

Women’s 2019 Retreat Date: November 8-10, 2019 Details to follow in March Location: Lake Junaluska Retreat Center Speaker: Elizabeth Poplin
Save the Date!
As a woman, your life revolves around your deepest needs and greatest treasures. Home. Relationships. Security. Family. These desires are healthy, but if you’re not careful, they can become the places you look to find fulfillment and identity, often leaving you disappointed, empty, and weary. At our 2019 Fall Women’s Retreat, you are invited to come away, be still, and discover the true freedom and satisfaction that only Jesus can bring - to trade brokenness for joy, comparison for contentment, and longing for peace. Let’s sit with Jesus and ask Him to fill us with ALL He is. Let’s escape the noise, quiet our hearts, and meet God in a fresh, new way. He has so much to say to us. Speaker Elizabeth Poplin is a passionate women’s ministry leader and co-founder of Ember CLT, a worship gathering that welcomes thousands of women throughout the Charlotte area. Her passion is teaching the Bible and walking with women as they pursue and discover Jesus. She is a daughter, sister, and friend to many. She is married to her college sweetheart and they have two boys. 15
