If you are looking for something a little more American check out the American staple, the Hard Rock Café DC. Located in the heart of DC, the pop culture favorite has been in DC since 1990. To enter this library you must get access from your state representative prior to visiting.

• United States Holocaust Memorial Museum: Reminding people of the destruction hatred can cause, this moving museum is open seven days a week and offers free timed- entry tickets.

• Vietnam Veterans Memorial: Honoring those who lost their lives in this controversial war. This solemn memorial reminds you of the sacrifices made during war.

• National Mall: Enoy the open gardens, fountains and trees across this two mile area. This is the perfect place to read a book, enjoy a leisure stoll or sit on one of the many benches and people watch.
