A Christmas Prelude At Kennebunkport

Tree lightings, Santa arriving by lobster boat, caroling at the Franciscan Monastery, a beautiful fireworks display, a lively street festival, and more are just some of the highlights of the 11-day Christmas Prelude scheduled through Dec. 10 this year. Several specialty fairs will kick off the event, including the Cape Porpoise Christmas Fair, a craft fair at the Village Baptist Church, a Holiday Fair at The Center and Artisan Craft Fair, plus many more.

Don’t miss the Gingerbread Village open from 9 a.m. -5 p.m. various days throughout. A collection of colorful boutique cottages has transformed into a beautifully lit Gingerbread Village for the holidays! Our shopping path is sparkling with tens of thousands of white lights and each of our boutique shops feature gingerbread & Prelude offerings such as bagels, cookies, cakes and other festive treats, as well as warming bonfires and s’mores. Come out to the Seashore Trolley Museum for a special winter treat! Ride in heated trolleys decked out in live holiday greens on our private heritage railroad, shop in the Museum Store, and enjoy delicious hot chocolate! Only $12/ person; children 2 and under that will be sitting on laps on the trolley ride are free.

Enjoy crafts and activities, visit with Santa, shop for last-minute gifts, listen to live musical performances, taste delicious cookie crawl or roast marshmallows at the S’mores Station and Bonfire
