utgoing pop songstress Pink will make her hugely anticipated return to Australia for what will be the hottest tour of the year, ‘The Truth About Love Tour’, touching down in Sydney next July. Renowned around the world as one of the most dynamic live performers of her generation – and by far the most successful female touring and recording artist ever in the Australian market – Pink’s 2009 ‘Funhouse Tour’ was one of the biggest Australian tours ever. Starting off as a 20-show run, overwhelming demand meant that ‘Funhouse’ was extended into a threemonth stay, with Pink eventually playing a phenomenal 58 sold out shows to more than 670,000 fans around the country. ‘The Truth About Love Tour’ is primed to deliver just as awe-inspiring performances in the now trademark Pink style – thoroughly captivating audiences with her rocking vocals and a formidable catalogue of hits. The 2013 tour follows the release of Pink’s sixth studio album, ‘The Truth About Love’, which debuted at number one on the ARIA charts and reached triple-platinum status. It features the ARIA number one smash ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’. Since her debut in 2000, Pink has released seven albums and sold more than 40 million albums and 65 million singles including: ‘Can’t Take Me Home’, ‘Missundaztood’, ‘Try This’ and ‘I’m Not Dead’. Pink had originally annouced three

t’s every kid’s dream to be a rock star when they grow up, and for Australian singer songwriter, Josh Pyke, it was no exception. Joining a band at 12-years-old and then penning his first song at just 14, it was clear he was always musically minded. “I can still remember sitting in my parents’ living room listening to ‘The Beatles’ when I was a kid and thinking I could be a fill-in if they ever needed an extra person,” he joked. It’s this lifelong obsession with music that has helped Josh forge a career as one of the country’s most respected performers. His debut album, ‘Memories and Dust’, landed at number four on the ARIA charts in 2007 and saw him score three ARIA awards his quirky mix of hits, including ‘Lines on Palms’. Quickly making his mark on the industry, Josh scored acclaim from critics and fans alike who fell in love with his eccentric song structures and detailed storytelling skills. Releasing his follow up album, ‘Chimney’s Afire’ in 2008 and his latest album, ‘Only Sparrows’ last year, Josh has a reputation as one of the country’s best modern songwriters. Now Josh is gearing up for another run of shows, only this time he’ll be doing it without the support of a band. Taking to the stage with just a guitar and a few tricks up his sleeve, Josh will play a mix of his recent hits, including ‘Love Lies’ and ‘No One Wants A Lover’

as well his older tunes like the infectious track, ‘Middle Of The Hill’. Having developed a knack for playing unusual instruments, Josh said audiences could expect to see him mix up his songs in different ways, using a looping machine and a harmonica. “I’m even thinking about using a recorder,” he laughed. hannel Ten will be very pleased with the results of their Julian Assange telemovie ‘Underground’ on Sunday night after it attracted an impressive 1.33 million viewers. However Channel Seven will be even more delighted after their show ‘Anh Does Vietnam’ surprised everyone, pulling in a massive 1.67 million viewers to win the night. Anh is a fantastic talent but I don’t think he would’ve expected it to be so successful.
Good news for fans of teen drama ‘Pretty Little Liars’ because it’s just been renewed for a fourth season. American TV network ABC Family has ordered another 24-episode season to air mid-2013. ‘Pretty Little Liars’ currently airs on FOX 8. More returning favourites are on their way. ‘Survivor’ fans rejoice, the 25th season, set in the Philippines, will hit airwaves next Tuesday, October 16 at 10.30pm on Nine. Spooky drama ‘Supernatural’ is also coming back to
ELEVEN with new episodes from Monday, October 15 at 8.30pm. ABC1 is set to air a bold new local drama titled ‘Redfern Now’ this November. ‘Redfern Now’ is a six-part series that explores contemporary inner city Indigenous life. These powerful, moving, funny, and bittersweet stories centre on a diverse group of individuals, exploring their strength, flaws and resilience. Over six episodes viewers join the households of six different families whose lives are changed by a moment’s decision, an accident, or a seemingly insignificant incident. It is a series about extraordinary events in ordinary lives. The show appears to have plenty of promise and stars a host of high-profile local actors including Deborah Mailman. It begins on Thursday, November 1 at 8.30pm.
Everyone’s favourite South Korean pop singer, Psy, is headed to Australia next week and is set to appear on some local television shows. The ‘Gangnam Style’ singer will perform his worldwide smash both on ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Sunrise’. ‘Gangnam Style’ has already received over 400 million YouTube views and is currently the number one song in the country and number one in 33 others across the world. [Pictured] One show I’m enjoying at the moment is the new series of ‘Beauty and the Geek Australia’. Each year this comes around it always give me a good laugh but you have to wonder just how much of it is scripted. Surely the girls aren’t that dumb and the geeks don’t really dress so ‘nerdy’ in their day to day life. It provides good comic relief!

Why do Americans have to take a good show and then create their own version? The latest title added to that long list is top ABC show ‘The Slap’. It’s understood TV network NBC are close to finalising a deal that will see ‘The Slap’ re-made for the US market. I personally don’t understand why Americans can’t watch the locallyproduced series, which was extremely
successful and won a swag of coveted television awards. Another successful Aussie show that the US networks are also eyeing off is Seven’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’. It’s understood an unnamed US network is very keen to bring the format to US audiences.
