ONE WIN AWAY Sydney FC Captain Terry McFlynn is set to return from injury in tonight’s game against Brisbane where he hopes to guide his club into the A-League Final. The Sky Blues are just one win away from guaranteeing their place in the top six, but a draw or loss to the Roar could still see them squeeze in depending on the results of Perth and Newcastle.

lassic and modern rock will echo through Enmore when the second Dig It Up festival returns to the Enmore Theatre and surrounds on April 21. With and array of artists on offer, all hand picked by Australian music legends the Hoodoo Gurus, the event will feature time-honoured names like Blue Oyster Cult, Buzzcocks, Flamin’ Groovies and Peter Case of The Nerves as well as local acts like The Stems and Lime Spiders. Hoodoo Gurus front man Dave Faulkner said
he is looking forward to an encore after the fi rst Dig It Up festival in 2012. “We had such a great time,” he said. “Basically it’s like the world’s best festival. It’s a musical cornucopia, you’ll see what’s influenced people for generations, a music history in the true spirit of rock and roll. “It’s across several venues and you can help yourself to whatever artists you want... Blue Oyster Cult have never played in Australia, so it’s a rather star studded line up, action packed.” Faulkner said former Gurus bassist Clyde Bramley would even spin a mix comprised of an “incredible collection of 1960’s music” before the
Flamin’ Groovies set. “The acts are all so good, you don’t want to miss a minute of it... Last year, it brought out all kinds of people like young people and people with families who don’t come to gigs, who started seeing all their old friends,” he said. “There was this incredible feeling of nostalgia, but also this feeling we should be doing this every year.” And to celebrate their dodge of the so-called sophomore jinx, when a band’s second album breaks or makes them, Faulkner said the Hoodoo Gurus will perform their highly successful 1985 album ‘Mars Needs Guitars’ in its entirety.
