“NEVER BEEN BUSIER” BUILDER REPORTS SURGE IN SIGN-UPS Despite the COVID pandemic and pause on construction, Penrith-based home builder ZAC Homes has started the process of building more homes than ever. In terms of new contracts, ZAC Homes Sales and Marketing Manager, Gavin Phibbs said during July they had never been busier. We’ve engaged and signed up more than double in a typical month which we put down to so many people being at home with extra spare time,” Mr Phibbs said. “They’ve had time to finalise the details on their new home while
in lockdown by utilising technology.” With the new home signings located all over Greater Sydney and the Central Coast, 80 per cent are duplexes. “Many of our customers are knocking down their existing home and rebuilding and reinvesting equity,” he said. “Home owners can sell the second dwelling or use it as a rental investment, and at the same time they get a brand new home.” For the home owners who have signed up in July, construction will commence in three to six months, with completion in about nine to 12 months. “We haven’t missed a beat in lockdown because most of our homes are custom builds so customers don’t need to walk through a display home to know what their new home will be like,” he said. “During the lockdown, we’ve been able to meet via Zoom with sales staff, architects and other specialists participating.” Mr Phibbs said the pandemic

It is easier being green when it comes to securing finance for environmentally friendly products. If you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint, there are many lenders who are offering what are known as green loans. This is a form of credit offered to a customer who wants to use the money for something environmentally friendly for the home such as solar panels or purchasing an electric or hybrid vehicle. Lenders who provide green loans will often offer interest rates lower than a standard personal or car loan as an incentive for consumers to switch to more efficient and environmentally friendly products.
