WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN? Our thumbs up to all those people that are supporting the medico’s position that we should become anti social, face to face, for a short period. My thumbs down to those who insist on being selfish because it is no less than that. My team are working within the rules and life is going on. People that want to buy a home or rent a property are still able to get service from us, so please keep calling. The government has indicated they are creating a moratorium on evictions due to hardship and that commercial landlords and tenants should be talking to each other. In the circumstances what else could they say. However, as they are also considering paying employers $1500 a fortnight to maintain employees plus they have increased Centrelink payments twice recently, the issue for tenants should not be as bad as some people make out. My feeling is that some people will try to take advantage of the current virus position and others will play the game and be fair. This of course applies to landlords as well and I speak as a landlord. Tenants will have to prove they have lost their jobs I presume but the legislation for want of a better word is not on foot at this moment so we will not know until the powers that be let us know. The only thing I can add is, let’s be considerate of each other and get through this situation in the best way we can. – Happy to chat any time, Phil
