I hope you are all well and dealing sensibly with the Covid guidelines through which it might appear, we have taken a big enough stick to, to overcome it. Personally, I feel it will be a bit like the flu, around for a long time but beatable for most. The media response to Covid reminds me very much of the first Jaws movie. The fin in the water propelled by a person of course was seen and everyone jumped out of the water (I would have been first out). Of course the media got hold of the story and maybe it was a slow news day so no one went into the water next day. The weekend came and people had not seen any more of the shark fins but they were still only dabbling their toes in the water. Most of you know the rest. Covid has been like that. From all the commentary you might have begun to believe that some almighty power was out to change the way we live forever. Just about every commentator blamed one major power or another. They said life will never be the same again. Well, for one reason or another our lives or the way we live them change every day in one way or another but I feel confident in saying that the people of the world and particularly Australia have a resilience to these things and eventually we all man up and deal with whatever crosses our path. This is my way of saying thank you to the great majority that have heeded the various health departments’ words and have been social distancing. A lot of you have been working from home. Was this a bludge? I can tell you that everyone I know that has been working from home has worked longer and harder than if they had gone to work. We will remember Corona virus forever but we know we can beat it if we are sensible. I am amazed how well we Australians have come through this pandemic and it makes me proud to be an Australian even if originally from a distant shore.
