In the graduation season, everyone is going to have the different pathway. What is the thing that every graduate from the university may bump into? Most of them will have to make a decision about the future, and it may make them feel panic and confusion in this situation. So, the inspiration for my design is from the group that is focused on graduates, which is in the age from 21-24, most of them are not yet to have the experience into the world before leaving the university. My idea comes from relationship, the human is living in groups, that’s why the connection with others may be an important part of our life. The starting point is from a graduate.
04
TARGET AUDIENCE Research & Process
First, I do some brainstorming to develop ideas about the target audience subject, trying to find out what my target audience might be. Then, I find that I am more interested in the group from 21-24 years old, which is what my generation as well. I try to do some research about what the problem they will meet during this period. I started asking friends, searching online and then made the concluding in four parts, future, appearance, social and opinion. In my research, people from 22 to 24 years old put more attention in future and appearance, such as confused about the plan for future or many people use someone’s appearance to defined one’s value. I choose the future part to be what I am going to focus on is because I also confused by this issue. I want to find a way to communicate with my target audience.
05
Target audience profile: • 21-24 years old • Just graduated from university • Confused about making a decision
At the time of graduation, we often send gifts to friends to express our blessing, and chocolate is often a good choice. My idea is about use chocolate as a checklist, I call it "Choco list", so I am going to make a checklist poster. There will be numbers on each chocolate, you can eat a chocolate whenever you complete an option on the checklist poster, and the options on the poster are some help, the things you can do when you feel confused in the face of making future choices, of course, you can also eat chocolate directly, but don't forget to stick the poster in front of your desk, this can remind you when every time you see it.

This project teaches me to find your target audience first, and then, you should try to find a way to communicate with them. However, I always do my design work without thinking about who is going to be my target market, it helps me use a different way to reflect, this kinds of the project is better for you when you are doing a objectives work also makes me realize that design is a way to communicate not only a piece.
First version poster
There are some limitations of my project, firstly, I try to find out the biggest issue in my target audience, however, my subject is not special, secondly, the visual effect still needs to improve that can catch audiences eyes stronger and express my idea clearer.
There are some feedbacks from tutor and peer groups: - Try to add different flavors to your chocolate. -Do more research to your target audience. -Design a logo for your chocolate. -More ideas when you are doing design

Redesign
I try to do more research, so I ask questions on Instagram story.
The first question is “ Can someone share your treatment of being upset or confused ?”
The second question is “ If you want to cheer people up,which flavor of chocolate will you choose for them? Why?
In conclution, I choose Dark, Milk, Whiskey and Mint flavour, the suggestion will be write inside the chocolate cover paper.

Mike is really sicking of the dirty ashes always blow into his nose when he is in central London, so he wants to do something to complain that he is not happy about this situation.

ALTER EGO
Research & Process
This project lets me get out from the comfort zone and try to thinking in a different view, it is so much fun when I saw this subject. I also want to build a character which is really on the opposite style of me, so I started to write down some adjective and research some different style picture, such as punk, hippie, indie. After doing research, I am interested in punk style, also Punk culture originated in the UK, and then, I select a ďŹ eld that it will never happen in my life, scientist. I want to combine this two element to create my character. I try to draw my character.

Research & Process
I try to think what a punk lover will do for complaining about air pollution, after doing research, “Be yourself is my core inspiration in this project. My idea in this project is to deliver a package to diesel drivers, because the main reason to cause air pollution is by diesel vehicles. The inspiration comes from the gas mask and dirty tissue after you blow your nose when you visit central London to express irony air pollution in central London.

I used to do design in my familiar way, however, this project helps me build a totally different character and try to think from my character’s sight, it helps me exploring more inspiration from my mind, learned more knowledge and history of a different style. If I have time to do it differently, I think I will try to change my design of Mike’s mask or make more kinds of the mask.

At first, I want to design a word poster about these, after few days thing of ideas, I want to more focus on one of them, I take “firework” to be my first choice because it is more familiar to most of the people also I am more interested in it. After I have decided my object, I started to think what am I going to do in the project, using firework’s ingredient to make a graphic collage poster is my first idea, however, I was thinking that firework is the product which is full of dynamic, also I want to make a challenge, I want to try to make a short animation to develop my project.

It’s my first time to try to build a short animation, I feel restrictive when I am doing the project, I am not familiar with using PS to make animation. However, this project makes me learn more animation knowledge, and I enjoyed observing every step of a video or movement. If I can do indifferently, I want to try to use AE to make my animation and learning more software skills.

I meet some problems when I am doing the project, for example, I can not combine my process with the ice cream really well. And I redesign my poster after getting feedbacks from tutor and peer groups, I want to make my information clearer on my poster. What is your design process? I have never asked my myself with this question before, this project makes me learn that every part of your process is step by step, moreover the research part is really important.
Also, thinking about design process makes me know that design is not an easy work, however, make good use of your design process is really helping a lot and makes you build stronger design. If I can do it differently, I will try to make my idea into an ice cream clay module, you can move around each step of your process to express you will have a different process with a different project.

I started my observation from my daily life in the collection subject, I found various kinds of trees, signboards on my way to home, different clothes or make-up products in my room, moreover, I went to an exhibition, which is about Oceania, there are many aboriginal collections inside, it’s really fun when you were observing figures’ connection between face, motion, and clothes. In the sketchbook project, it makes me discover more interesting things than before, also makes me realize many ideas come from your surroundings. On-the-spot drawing is not as easier as tracing paper or photos, however, it can help you improve your drawing skill when capturing objects’ ratio, action and so on. You can also find out many interesting things that drew from classmates during class. The most important thing that I learned from the project is more drawing makes you feel more comfortable when you are sketching.

EXHIBITION
Pace Gallery

In the project, we visited 15 galleries and did a presentation with a group. I am in the team one with Monica, Jen-I, Xizhuo, and Qirui. Tutors took us to these galleries which most of them I have never been there before, except Pace galleries. And surprisingly, our group choose Pace gallery to be our subject. This is a gallery which has many branches all over the world, such as China, France, America and so on. This project brings me to learn more about the research and curation of space. And the exhibition being held when our visited is all in black and white color, the feeling that the space been giving us is really amazing. We also learn from each other in our group, my group members always help me a lot when I have questions.

EXHIBITION
Pace Gallery
My Part in the presentation -Description of PACE Gallery -What is the nature of the space
1. Description of PACE Gallery: a. The gallery (public space, commercial space etc...=) The wide definition of a public space is a place that is generally open and accessible to people. Roads (including the pavement), public squares, parks, and beaches are typically considered public space. To a limited extent, government buildings which are open to the public, such as public libraries are public spaces, although they tend to have restricted areas and greater limits upon use. (Wikipedia definition) According to the definition of public space, we may say pace gallery is a public space because in this space everyone can enter for free. Also, the pace gallery is a commercial space, it opens to buyers as well.

b. What is the nature of the space(Vivi) Located directly north of the Royal Academy of Art’s Burlington House, Pace London occupies the west wing of the building, which is owned by the Royal Academy and has been renovated by architect and Royal Academician Sir David ChipperďŹ eld. Pace London is led by Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst, who oversees both 6 Burlington Gardens and Pace London's existing location at 6-10 Lexington Street in Soho. (Pace Gallery website) This is a square space with two entrances, one from the RCA interior and the other from the outer street. The exhibition space is surrounded by white walls with a special small room in the middle. This makes space present a large square surrounded by a small square. The main square is in white color and in a wide size; the small room leads through a narrow aisle and it can only accommodate few people, it makes two form in a strong contrast.

EXHIBITION
Other Galleries
This is my second favorite gallery on this trip, I am not an interior design professor, however, I feel really amazing when I visited here as a customer. It only has little space when you enter, but if you walk down stair there is a huge space, also the lighting inside makes me feel comfortable, you can see the transparent window when you look up, the natural light will be spilled from there. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this two week project.

Dive Into Soft toys
51
A zine (/zi n/) is a small circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier. (Wikipedia) I was thinking about what is my favorite thing that I can use it to be my subject, this is a little bit difďŹ cult for a person that always change her mind. Just as I feel hard to decide, I thought of my soft toy Lisa that I always thought she was so cute. And I know that this is what my subject about my zine.

STARTING POINT
53
Research & Process
I believe that many people have a special item, it can make you feel familiar when you leave your hometown or the place you used to be. The soft toy is my special company, is something that has emotion for me. However, I want my zine to give other interesting feelings, not just a girl with her toy. So I want to use the layout and the paper’s textile to build this kind of style.
54
STARTING POINT
Research & Process
This is some of the idea drafts about my content and cover page, I want to do an introduction page and a friend's toys’ collection map which is inspired by the interim critique. On the other hand, this is my cover page’s draft, but I didn’t use any one of them My inspiration of cover page is this music video from a Korean singer, soft toys make me connect with textile, and the textile of soft toys is also a key point of choosing toys for me, so if you I can jump into many plush items it would be amazing, that’s why my title “Dive into soft toys” comes from.

In this project, I do more focus on exploring magazine, and try to think about people’s reading habit; printing and photography are also an interesting part of it. I learn a lot when I am trying to print and take photos of your outcome by myself, making your pages to stick together and ďŹ nally become a real zine, not just a digital stuff. I do enjoy all the process when I do this project. If I can do it differently, I will still use the same subject, but I want to do more research on the zine and then do more pages.
