FROM FAMOUS NEIGHBORHOODS NAMED LITTLE ITALY, THE SEARCH FOR AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOODS, AND PARADES CELEBRATING THE CULTURE, AMERICA IS OBSESSED WITH ITALY. MANY PEOPLE DREAM OF VISITING THE COUNTRY ONE DAY AND ARE ALWAYS IN SEARCH OF THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD THEY CAN FIND IN THE STATES IN THE MEANTIME. BUT WHY ARE AMERICANS SO IN LOVE WITH ITALY?
One of the best parts of Italy is the food. Italian cuisine is the ultimate comfort food, making it a popular choice when dining out. From pasta, pizza, and delicious wine, Italy doesn’t hold back in carbs or taste. However, many of the Italian restaurants in the states have been Americanized and arent considered authentic. In order to have authentic Italian food, you’ll need to go to Italy. Or at least read up on the restaurants that are known for real Italian food.

POP CULTURE America’s obsession with Italy goes far beyond just the cuisine. The pop culture such as Italian songs, TV shows, and movies have been an obsession for a while. Many movies depicting the mafia and gangster lifestyle has become quite a staple for Italians. Americans can’t get enough of the Italian mafia trope, shown in movies such as The Godfather and TV shows like The Sopranos. Besides the mafia, there are also many movies showing the main characters finding love and life in Italy. Movies such as Eat, Pray, Love and Under the Tuscan Sun often show how Italy will change someone’s life.
THE DREAM TRAVEL DESTINATION One of the most popular travel destinations among Americans is Italy. Not only are there incredible sites to see, but there is also amazing history to explore and adventure that awaits. At least, that’s what all the movies tell us. But many people who were fortunate enough to see Italy in person often wish they could go back never leave. Italy is a beautiful country rich in culture and delicious foods, making it the dream travel destination. Italy and Italian culture have become quite the obsession among Americans, and for good reason too. With a culture as delicious and beautiful as this one, it’s hard not to be.
