cities this year including San Francisco, DC, and NYC was promoted by a company knows as Guerilla Union. Since it’s inception in 2004, Rock the Bells has been a place where fans of underground hip hop both classic and current can come and enjoy their favorite acts and be exposed to a plethora of art, fashion and counter culture
paraphernalia all with no visible corporate sponsorship which adds to the appeal of the event. Some of the notable acts who performed this year and who are also friends of the Alex Jones show were Immortal Technique and KRS-ONE. Well Guerilla Union has shown its true colors as it waved the flag of controlled opposition in the midst of 25,000 fans. As I entered the NOS Event Center which housed the event I was appalled to find that cash was not being accepted for the purchase of food or beverages, instead; concert goers were informed that they would need to take their Federal Reserve promissory notes and exchange them for credits which would be loaded onto a card deemed the “GU” card. These cards were available at booths located throughout the venue and in the middle of the scorching 98 degree heat; the long lines were an inconvenience to say the least. As I approached the counter the thought dawned on me so I asked,” What if I have money on my card that I don’t use?” in which the reply was, “Oh don’t’ worry you can go to the booths marked refund at any time and they will give you the cash back.” So here I am with my card which by the way had what looked to be a small microchip etched on the front of it and yy this time I was thirsty and in need of refreshment. I approached the conces-

Feeling outraged and confused by the fact that I was at an underground hip hop event being promoted by a company that I had come to know as one that went against the grain and snubbed its nose at the establishment, I proceeded to ask those around me how they felt about this GU card and the overwhelming consensus was what I expected one of disdain and disbelief. After watching a few acts in the all but unbearable sun, hunger started to kick in. My wife and I scanned the vendors in search of something that sounded appealing and with a short line and we came upon a BBQ stand offering what looked to be a nice selection of delectable eats. In line in front of us was a pair of event staff employees as indicated by their apparel. We struck up a conversation regarding the GU card and how what money making scheme it was since most people wouldn’t be willing to stand in a long line to get the balance that remained on their card at the end of the night. One of the staff members defended the card and said,”Hey it’s my money and if I want it I’ll go get it!” I tried to explain my position and went into the fact that this was prophetic and a sign of things to come only to be met with sneers chuckles as if I was some weird conspiracy nut which is a typical response from the uninformed masses. Well wouldn’t ya know as if by design people in the line started leaving and saying as they passed by, “The powers out and no one can get food!” WHAT!?!? I couldn’t believe what was unfolding in front of my eyes. I stayed in line waiting for my chance to as the concession stand attendant what the heck was going on! As we approached the front of the line I could hear the woman
behind the counter saying, sorry the power is out we cannot serve anyone right now.” Just as she said this the two employees in front of me pulled out a card of their own. This card was very different, it was red in color but I could not make out what it said but was shocked at what played out next. The gentleman flashed his card to the attendant and asked, “what about this card?” to which the woman replied, Oh sure we can take that card no problem” and proceeded to get the man and his co-worker a plate of food! I spoke with the woman and asked her when she expected the power back up to which she replied, “I
have no idea”. I looked at the woman and told her “This is crazy; you don’t see anything wrong with this?” She had no response for me and as I made remarks regarding the prophetic nature of the event and how this was a sign of things to come I could see the event worker who at this time was enjoying his food shake his head as if to say this guy is crazy.

The corporate media wasted little time in seizing upon controversial Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s comments about Osama bin Laden being a U.S. spy to deride the claim as a far-fetched conspiracy theory, and yet the fact that Bin Laden was once a CIA protégé and has been used time and again to the benefit of the U.S. government’s geopolitical agenda is a documented fact. It sounds like Fidel Castro has been reading Prison Planet. com, but the Guardian claims that the notorious revolutionary has “gone too far” in claiming Osama Bin Laden is a U.S. double agent.
Indeed, this was a phenomenon that we documented for years, writing numerous different articles pointing out that whenever Bush was in political trouble, Bin Laden or one of his Al-Qaeda commanders would pop up at the most opportune moment to give Bush cover and allow him to grandstand as a trusted leader in the war on terror. The most infamous example of this occurred just days before the 2004 presidential election, when Bin Laden appeared in a dubious video tape and attacked Bush, implicitly siding with his opponent John Kerry. Bin Laden’s chastisement of Bush resulted in a 6 point swing, enabling Bush to seal a second term in office. Both Bush and Kerry attributed the result to the intervention of the Bin Laden tape. Veteran newscaster Walter Cronkiteeven went as far as to charge that the whole thing smacked of a set-up orchestrated by Karl Rove.
The Cuban leader cites Wikileaks for his contention that Osama bin Laden is a CIA asset, but he went further in pointing out the fact that Bin Laden was routinely used by the Bush administration as a convenient boogeyman.
“I thought it was going to help,” Bush told Bill Sammon, Senior White House Correspondent for the Washington Examiner. “I thought it would help remind people that if bin Laden doesn’t want Bush to be the president, something must be right with Bush.”

Distinguished former FBI agent Ted Gunderson revealed that Bin Laden had visited Sherman Oaks, California in 1986 under his CIA code name Tim Osman as part of Bin Laden’s role in helping the U.S. government fight a proxy war with the Soviets. We made this album purely for the art of it, and it’s such an encouragement that people actually like it. The number one priority is to make music that I love to listen to and play. W: Tell us about yourselves! How long has the band been together now? OED: Kimberly: I started the band about a year before I met Jason in 2006 after moving to Austin from Eugene, Oregon. He came to a show at Emo’s and was the first producer with an actual studio to ever take a liking to my music. I was living in a car at the time, not able to afford studio time. He really wanted to make it work, so I traded painting his place all different colors for the album. We hit it off and made lots and lots of music together over the years. I was elated to actually bring him into the band last year!! Jason has been -by far- the most loyal music partner I’ve ever had. Since I became a performer, I’ve had so many bandmates burn out, flake out and leave me wondering if I was the only person in the world who believed in this enough to be a part of it for the long haul. He’s incredibly resilient, creative, talented and loves doing this as much as I do. I’m incredibly grateful to have a true friend and creative partner like Jason. He’s pretty much stuck with me.
W: We Saw Kimberly on TVs “America’s Got Talent” with ArcAttack. Brains! What was that like? They ought to WIN!
OED: Kimberly: I was on tee vee? That’s awesome! Junior: I saw Kimberly on America’s Got Talent too! She can’t comment on that for a few weeks though so ask about it again in an upcoming issue. I’m pretty sure she had a blast though.
W: Tell us how the name One Eyed Doll came to be? OED: Kimberly: The name refers to my grandpa Bernie, who had one eye. He was my first and foremost musical influence. He was a slapstick actor, comedian and musician all his life. The name also refers to the idea of self-awareness [third eye] and reminds me to stay grateful and in the present.
W: W: Where did you record Break? And who the F*#@&K mixed it? Awsome!

Junior: I like the dark prog rock epics. Resurrection, Overdose, Plumes of Death, Roses. But we have a new song called “Fool Me Once” that is by far my new favorite. It’ll be on our album coming out in early 2011.
W: You guys are independent, describe the benifits versus big promises from the labels that promise the world. OED: Kimberly: I’m still sleeping on the floor, which is probably good for my back. Junior: As soon as someone offers us the world on a platter, we’ll probably take them up on it. Until then we’re not waiting around. Kimberly I do pretty much everything ourselves. I do most of the recording and booking and she does most of the merch and fan relations. Something that we’ll never give up is our creative license to make and put out whatever music we want whenever we want. If we’re offered a huge record contract, that will have to be part of the deal for us to consider it.
W: Where are you performing this Sept and October?
OED: Junior: Thank you! I’m glad you like the sound of Break. Kimberly and I recorded the album ourselves. I’ve been recording albums since I was 15, and have run a pro recording studio for the last 10 years called Nebulost Productions. I’ve been honored by being named amongst the best producers in the SXSW music awards in both 2009 (for Monster by One-Eyed Doll) and 2010 (for Sleep by Kimberly Freeman.) It’s very humbling to be listed among such great producers in a town like Austin that is known for it’s amazing music scene. I honestly never expected that type of recognition in this town. Since Break was my first album with One-Eyed Doll as an official member, I really went all out. I feel like it’s the best sounding album I’ve made and we’re both very proud of the production.

DAVE NEWMAN FOR CITY COUNCIL PLACE 1 Hello and Thank You for Your Vital Interest in Our City: My name is Dave Newman and I am running for San Marcos City Council; Place 1, in the November 2nd, 2010 election. Although I am originally from Houston, I have lived in San Marcos for over 20 years, and my involvement with our city extends back to the 1960s and 1970s. I was a student here at SWTSU in the late ‘70s, however circumstances required that I finish my degree at the University of Houston, and I received a BS in Physics in 1982. I am an Alum of Zeta Delta Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity here at Texas State University. I joined the US Air Force right out of college and was accepted into USAF Pilot Training. After successfully completing OTS and graduating UPT, I was as-
signed to Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX where I piloted C-130s for the duration of my time in the Air Force. Following my Air Force service, I flew in commercial aviation for the next 20 years.
Some of my flying jobs included: Famine relief into Sudan and later into Somalia in the years prior to the US involvement there. Two years at Berry Aviation here at the San Marcos airport, delivering top secret government documents around the US and also transporting overnight freight across the country and down into Mexico for UPS. Piloting a DC-8 for BAX Global in worldwide, all-weather operations. Piloting a Boeing 767 for the Oil Minister of Saudi Arabia, to OPEC meetings worldwide, and also transport for Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Saudi Foreign Minister to diplomatic meetings worldwide.
In the November 2008 election also, I was also a candidate for Mayor of San Marcos, which was a decision prompted not out of desire, but rather out of necessity, as well as a sense of duty to our community and the people and City of San Marcos. Although I did not win that election, I took a degree of encouragement as did many others in our city, that virtually all of the issues that I had the opportunity to bring forth for discussion, gained traction and momentum both during and after the November 2008 election.
These very same issues were, and are here and now instrumental, toward motivating the voting public toward an inevitable shift in San Marcos political perspective and policy, which I believe that we are on the verge of realizing very soon at City Hall.
The issues both then and now include: The chronic and critical need for professional career growth and opportunity as well as continued job creation in San Marcos Fiscal and financial governmental accountability and spending within reasonable and responsible parameters Transportation and traffic concerns, which are increasing each year as we continue our inevitable growth as a city A policy and practice of open government, disclosure and transparency Management of sensible, sustainable, long term, solid physical and economic growth for the immediate present and on into our positive future Environmental and water quality concerns: protection and preservation of the San Marcos River and our water supply in the Edwards Aquifer Preserving the unique character of our city with emphasis on the influence and integrity of our neighborhoods and the preservation and beautification of our downtown districts Limits to taxes and utility rates rather than the reverse trend of higher taxes and increasing utility rates with accompanying reductions in services Make it the exception rather than a standard policy for the expectation of taxpayer funded subsidies and financial handouts for private special interest groups Maintain and develop more available parking, bike lanes, green space, parkland, and seek to implement supportive quality of life features all around our city for the citizens of San Marcos
Maintain prime focus of the obligation of loyalty and fiduciary duty by our city government and elected officials to the voters and the taxpayers of the City of San Marcos. Set into practice a philosophy to adhere to the proper negotiation and implementation of our tax dollars, with a firm acknowledgement of the binding contract of trust and responsibility to those same voters and taxpayers.
Many of our citizens feel as though we have not seen a proper relationship between our city government and the voters and the people of San Marcos for some time now. I intend to change this, and make OUR city government responsive and accountable to the voters, who ultimately have the final word. I ask for your vital assistance in correcting what is currently broken in our city government, as well as reinforcing those many attributes that add to our love of this city, and make San Marcos a truly great place to live, to work, and to prosper. For my part of the book, I spoke to several experts and advocates of UFO Disclosure, which I was told by lobbyist Stephen Bassett should always begin with a capital D. Bassett told me that the recently disclosed files, while still valuable and interesting, only amounted to disclosure with a small “d,” not the government’s open admission of the ET reality that is Steven Bassett’s long sought after Holy Grail. According to Bassett, what the newly declassified documents do achieve, however, is to reinforce the familiar patterns of sightings and abductions that we have collected data on for many previous decades. What has been released not only functions to strengthen what we already knew, but it opens up a new international dialogue on the subject and makes available to masses of people on the internet files that are a confirmation of all the research conducted since 1947, and in some cases even earlier. “What those files contain,” Bassett said, “is of course not
all that we know. But if one took the time to review the entire tens of thousands of documents, they would clearly find some very interesting material. You put it all together and you’ve got a massive amount of evidence.” One researcher interviewed for the book who is more than pleased with the newly released files in his own country is A.J. Gevaerd of Brazil. Gevaerd, now cheerfully middle-aged, has been the editor and publisher of Brazil’s “UFO Magazine” since his early 20s, and was able, along with the small team of fellow Brazilian UFOlogists working with him, to bring meaningful pressure to bear on the government and Air Force there. Brazil not only released several thousand pages in batches by decade, they even invited Gevaerd and his team to visit the Air Force’s Integrated Center For Traffic Control and Air Traffic Control and Defense installations. “In both places we were welcomed by the military and briefed,” Gevaerd said in our interview. At one point during the visit, Gevaerd and his group were led into a room with several files on top of a big table and were allowed to scrutinize all the material contained in the files, though they were not permitted to make photocopies or even to take handwritten notes. One of the files detailed a case Gevaerd calls “The Official UFO Night In Brazil.”
“The Official UFO Night In Brazil.” The night in question took place in May of 1986. Seven jetfighters were scrambled to pursue 21 huge spheres, each of them a whopping one hundred meters in diameter. The enormous objects appeared over most of the inhabited places in Brazil, forcing the Minister of Defense to go on national television and admit that something had indeed happened. The Minister acknowledged that 21 objects had been seen in the skies of Brazil and that the matter was being thoroughly investigated. He promised that a report would be issued within 30 days. The report never saw the light of day, but Gevaerd was able to ascertain that a report had indeed been done and sent to the highest authorities in Brazil because he now has a copy of it, written in June of 1986. “This material is one of the treasures that we have in all these 5,000 pages,” Gevaerd said. “It declares that the objects detected by radar and pursued by jetfighters on that night were solid and under some sort of intelligent control. This report helped Vega to convince the Chilean authorities to launch an official UFO investigation called CEFAA (Committee for the Study of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena) attached to the Chilean Civil Aviation Agency. Gevaerd also said that he has a staff of people going over the pages to classify and organize them. Many of the pages are out of order, with pages from one document mistakenly grouped with another. Some of the files are available at Gevaerd’s website at UFO.com.br. Gevaerd hopes that the Brazilian government will be even more forthcoming in the future, and he promises to post everything he obtains on the internet, in both English and Spanish, so that the information can spread throughout the world. Meanwhile, in the wake of the Brazilian disclosures, he has been inundated with invitations to lecture and media requests for interviews. “After disclosure,” he said brightly, “things have been upside down. Thank God!”

This skewer of Lamb with peppers and cheery tomatoes comes out hot and served on a bed rice and is full of flavor and very tender to eat. I’m not scoring any points with vegans here but , man this LAMB thing is good!

We Need A Revolution, Not A Movement By Chuck Baldwin
The elections of 2008 (and the early elections of 2010) produced two significant phenomena: the “Ron Paul Revolution,” and the “Tea Party Movement.” And, mark it down: both of them will have profound effects upon the upcoming November elections–and upon the 2012 elections as well. Call them what you want, however, America doesn’t need another movement; it needs a genuine revolution. The primary elections plainly reveal the reality of this fact. The high spots so far are the defeats of Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania and Bob Bennett in Utah. The low spots so far are the reelection of John McCain in Arizona and the election of Dan Coats in Indiana. John McCain’s election, in particular, demonstrates how many conservatives and “revolutionaries” still don’t get it. If any State in the union should have an up-close-andpersonal look at what we are up against, it would be the people of Arizona. After all, they are on the front lines in the fight of one of the most important battles currently being waged in our country: illegal immigration. And John McCain is one of the worst offenders in terms of facilitating and encouraging this illegal invasion. Yet the people of Arizona reelected McCain to the US Senate. (It would interesting to know how many illegal aliens voted for McCain, would it not?) Then again, John McCain received the enthusiastic endorsement of former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin. This endorsement obviously brought McCain thousands of Tea Party votes that otherwise would have gone to his principal opponent, J.D. Hayworth. McCain is not the only Big-Government globalist neocon to receive Palin’s endorsement. Many of Palin’s endorsees are neocons; which leads to one of the biggest problems with any so-called conservative movement: allowing celebrity-type “conservatives” to become the de facto leaders and spokesmen for what

should be a true grassroots, people-generated rebellion. Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are the two biggest culprits in this regard. Mark my words: Palin and Beck may see themselves as part of a conservative “movement,” but they want nothing to do with an oldfashioned, honest-to-God, Patrick Henry-style revolution. In fact, they are doing everything in their power to keep such a revolution from taking place. This does not mean that Palin and Beck do not contribute some good things to freedom’s fight. They do. The problem is, for every good thing they contribute they counterbalance it by supporting establishment principals, such as John McCain and Newt Gingrich, and attacking non-establishment players and ideas, which serves only to keep the BigGovernment power structure firmly ensconced in Washington, D.C. Get real, folks, and start thinking for yourselves. Ask yourself why Fox News never (or hardly ever) invites non-establishment patriots to appear on their network. Why do you not see former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Craig Roberts on Fox News? Why do you not see former Georgia congressman and Presidential candidate Bob Barr on Fox News? Why do you not see former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura on Fox News? Why do you not see former Director of the US Office of Economic Opportunity and Presidential candidate Howard Phillips on Fox News? Why do you not see Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin on Fox News? The list is endless. Fox News is not “fair and balanced.” It is as controlled and manipulated as any other media news network. The only thing it balances is the other networks’ infatuation with the Democrat Party, by promoting Republican candidates and ideas. What it does not do is
educate and inform the American people with the truth as to what both major parties are doing to destroy our country. But remember, Fox News is owned by Keith Rupert Murdoch, the same man who helped finance Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the US Senate, and who is as much of a globalist as anyone in Washington, D.C., or New York City. As an aside, and speaking of Hillary Rodham, I predict that she will replace Vice President Joe Biden BEFORE the 2012 elections. I’ve said that in private for many weeks, and now say it in this column–remember, you heard it here. The Clinton-Bush Crime Syndicate (CBCS) needs Hillary in the White House badly, and Obama has readily accepted a subservient role in the criminal affairs of CBCS (for very profitable reasons, no doubt). And with the CBCS bosses pretty much running things at the White House (they don’t worry about domestic or social issues, providing that these do not interfere with their international criminal activities), is it any wonder that Obama has already
taken more vacations than most Presidents take during an entire term? And it is the influence of globalists and neocons upon national and international politics that the likes of Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck simply do not get–or do not want to get. And because many Tea Partiers are so enamored with these two (and allow them to do much of their thinking for them), they remain clueless as well. Ladies and gentlemen, America is in the throes of socialist and Marxist political upheaval. The curtain could fall at any time. The American people need to wake up to this truism: a “conservative” movement–even a

conservative Tea Party movement–will not save us. The only thing that will save us is an old-fashioned State revolt. Arizona had the opportunity to become a modern-day version of 1775 Massachusetts. But Arizona has probably forfeited that leadership role by 1) reelecting John McCain, and 2) being willing to allow federal courts to dictate law to a sovereign State. Instead of taking its case to the federal courts, Arizona should simply tell the federal government that it will enforce its own State laws (including the newly enacted anti-illegal immigration law) regardless of what any federal court says or doesn’t say. At some point, that is exactly what some State (or group of states) in this union is going to have to do, or liberty will be forever lost. As long as freedom lovers are content to remain satisfied with the status quo by allowing party politics and media celebrities to dominate their efforts, there will be no stopping this socialist avalanche that is crashing down upon us. The Tea Party movement of 2010 (if left free of Big-Government neocons) could certainly translate into positive developments this November; that is for sure. A revival of the “Ron Paul Revolution” in 2012 could also make a significant contribution, but it is going to take a State revolution to seal the deal. I, for one, am ready.

He loved the music and decided to produce a whole album. A record label was interested, but decided it wanted to shelve the album and dispense the songs to other LA bands, so I opted out of the deal. Dito always believed in me and this music and kept me in mind for years. He promised that he would work out a record deal for me. W:Name some of your influences. CPMZ:The band WAR, Earth, Wind, and Fire, a lot of classic rock and soul, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, and Roots Reggae Music in general.
W: I understand your the eldest son of country legend Charley Pride. Tell Weird Magazine how your musical influence got started as your Fathers son?
W: Welcome to Weird Magazine. Look forward to hearing youperform this weekend. I hear you’re the original San Marcos reggae band. CPMZ: I started here in 1997. I came down from Dallas, TX to start a Reggae band after having dreams and visions about me playing reggae music on stage. My family thought I was crazy, but it was something I felt I had to do. I got off the bus in San Marcos with my guitar and an army duffle bag with no place to live. I soon started my first band called One. I found out that a Canadian band had that name, so we changed the name to Zion. We started playing at places around town here in San Marcos. We used to pack Café on the Square when the wall separating it from Rocky LaRues was non-existent. The town had a different vibe back then. Bands could make a good name for themselves here.
W: How long have you been together? CPMZ:The band Zion has been together since 1997. The band has had a lot of different members in it, but the current configuration is what I like best. I would jump through hoops for these guys. I appreciate each and every band member that has played with me. It is hard to find good musicians to play with and I have been lucky to have had quality musicians ever since the beginning.
W: I hear you just got signed with EFM Records. Tell us about that?

LA right now. With this show, I am trying to show people that music isn’t just on the radio, on cd’s or in the club, but that music on the streets can influence your lives. There should be more performers on the streets.
W: How come I don’t see you guys in town lately? CPMZ: I don’t want to be negative, but live music has gone down here in san marcos. The amount of venues, the attendance, and the money paid to musicians has been getting less and less over the years. Nowadays it seems that people are not appreciating what a band does because they can go hear DJ’s playing music that they hear on the radio. It seems to be more economical for clubs to have djs instead of bands because they don’t have to pay out as much. But the energy live music brings is still very influential and powerful in peoples lives and needs to make its way back in to San Marcos. There are good quality bands in and around San Marcos that deserve to be heard.
W: How do you like being lined up at the River Reggae Festival?
W: : I heard you might be involved with a TV show coming up soon. Tell us about this.
CPMZ: I am really happy to get a chance to play the San Marcos Reggae Fest. The way that Mighty Zion plays reggae music is diff. from the original roots reggae bands. When you come see Mighty Zion, it is not just to see a band, but to see an experience. We don’t just play music for you, we throw it at you. Hopefully you are there to catch it. We have had a really good ride and are going strong. Come out and catch us soon. W: I understand that your stage area is built and you have performances on weekends there now. How is that coming along? WTD: It coming along well. The night life has picked up now that there is a separate entertainment room for nightly events. The Stage Room is very intimate and has great acoustics. Live music every ThursdaySaturday nights and Jazz with Scotty and Friends at noon on Sundays. I book the louder, more rockin’ shows for Friday and Saturday nights.

W: How many Beers do you have there and what is your favorite? Mine would be UFO. lol WTD : Ha! We do carry the ALIEN beer from Marfa! Our newest IPA is Flying Dogs’ ‘Raging Bitch’. WTD carries 59 different types of beer and a small wine selection. WTD is one of three businesses that have the largest beer selection in town.
