The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce held its annual

Awards of Excellence event on May 15. This year’s theme was “Hats off to Business” The awards recognize individuals and businesses that have made a significant and lasting contribution to the people of Centre Wellington. A total of 15 award categories were acknowledged at the evening event which was held at the Fergus Grand Theatre. Photos by Bill Longshaw


Citizen of the Year Award

Centre Wellington councillor Steve VanLeeuwen presents the Citizen of the Year Award to Don Doyle.


Business of the Year Award

RBC business account manager Naveen Dhanju presented the Business of the Year to Katie and Ryan Pope from Motion Electrical Contracting Inc. in Fergus.


Youth Citizen of the Year Award

Community Social Responsibility Award

Tom Waind of the Ostic Group presented the Community Social Responsibility Award to Groves Hospital Volunteer Association president Ann Ironside.


Cultural, Arts and Tourism Impact Award

Corporate Citizen of the Year Award

Environmental Excellence Award

Environmental Excellence - TD Canada Trust small business advisor Suzy Gray presented the Environmental Excellence Award to Jason Kuepfer of Organic Interiors.


Customer Service Excellence Award

Customer Service - Tom Blonde of Collins Barrow, left, presented the Customer Service Excellence Award to Karen Barker of Karen Barker Osteopath Clinic in Fergus.


Tradesperson of the Year Award

Jack Walsh of Wightman presented the Tradesperson of the Year Award to Mandy Deskur of MACADI Jewellery.


Young Entrepreneur Award

Not for Profit Award

Business Beautification/ Heritage Award

Agricultural Agri Business Award

Paul Walker presented the Agricultural-Agri-business Award to representative from HFH Inc.


The President’s Award

The President’s Award was given to Jackie Fraser of Fraberts Fresh Foods in Fergus, right, by past chamber president Kira Bailey.
