President’s Message
Mayor’s Message
On behalf of the directors, members, and volunteers of the Drayton Mapleton Agricultural Society, we welcome you to our 160th Old Tyme Fair.
On behalf of the Township of Mapleton Council and Staff, I would like to welcome everyone to Mapleton and the 2016 Drayton Fair.
This is a huge milestone we have reached. We could not have done it without our supportive community, dedicated volunteers and hard working directors. We have made some exciting changes for this year and as always hope there is something here for everyone to enjoy.
I would like to congratulate the Drayton Mapleton Agricultural Society on the celebration of the 160th Drayton Fair. This milestone represents hard work and dedication from many volunteers that continue to bring a successful event to our Township. Without a doubt, the 160th Old Tyme Fair will be a weekend filled with friendly competition and family entertainment within our diverse rural community. Once again congratulations, your work is the foundation for a strong municipality.
So make sure you come out and bring some friends, family and some new neighbors to support our local fair.
Jim Zantinge, President of The Drayton Mapleton Agricultural Society
Best of luck to everyone participating in this years’ events!

From dusk to dawn, From town to town, Without a single clue, I seek the tender, slender foot To fit this crystal shoe. From dusk to dawn, I try it on Each damsel that I meet. And I still love her so, but oh, I’ve started hating feet.
GRADE 4 7. WRITE the following on lined, 3-ringed binder paper: A Turtle By Jack Prelutsky

YOUTH Prize List GRADES 5 AND 6 8. WRITE the following with pen, on lined, 3-ringed binder paper: Poorly Dressed by Bruce Lansky
I have a friend who’s not well dressed. He wears no hat. He wears no vest.
Upon his back he wears no shirt, so you can see there’s lots of dirt.
He wears no shoes upon his feet. He wears no pants upon his seat.
In fact, he doesn’t wear a stitch, so he can scratch if there’s an itch.
I hope that you don’t find him rude– my dog is happy in the nude.
GRADES 7 AND 8 9. WRITE the following with pen, on lined, 3-ringed binder paper: Unharvested by Robert Frost
A scent of ripeness from over a wall. And come to leave the routine road And look for what had made me stall, There sure enough was an apple tree That had eased itself of its summer load, And of all but its trivial foliage free, Now breathed as light as a lady’s fan. For there there had been an apple fall As complete as the apple had given man. The ground was one circle of solid red.
May something go always unharvested! May much stay out of our stated plan, Apples or something forgotten and left, So smelling their sweetness would be no theft.
