MER *THAT SUM h nc by David Fre
Director: Julie Wheeler-Bryant Performances: November 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 at 8:00 p.m. November 15 at 2:00 p.m. It’s Memorial Day, 1990, and Margaret Ryan has returned from Vermont to the Ontario cottage country where, thirty-two years before, she was forced to vacation with her family at a lakeside resort. For her and for her sister Daisy, it was a time of awakening and a time of discovery. As the narrator Margaret watches Maggie, her younger self, relive the innocence and beauty of that summer, the play moves inexorably back to the heartbreak of a headlong surrender to experience, both won and lost in a single day. Cinematic in its feel and pacing, That Summer is a meditation on what endures of fleeting moments over time.
Director: Bronwyn Allen Hill Performances: February 5, 6, 11, 12 & 13 at 8:00 p.m. February 7 at 2:00 p.m. Carolyn is obviously with child and her maternal instinct leads her to think she can feather her nest by rebuilding her strained relationship with her snooty, disapproving parents. Jane and Bill haven’t seen their daughter for three years, ever since she escaped their smothering expectations and headed for a simpler life on her grandfather’s dairy farm with her francophone boyfriend, Michel. Minutes before they are to arrive for dinner, or what she calls “a high-level peace summit,” Carolyn is literally floored by her first contraction. A side-splitting look at a family learning to love again. With a baby about to arrive, modern medicine meets midwifery head on in a torrent of family feuding. As tensions rise between three dysfunctional generations, so does the laughter. It takes a baby to heal the rift in this funny, heart-warming story of forgiveness and hope.

MAN *I TAKE THIS ey by Jack Shark
When lovely young Gideon Hollis a.k.a. Giddy spots an unconscious man in a tank top and shorts lying in Copley Square just after all other Boston Marathon racers have crossed the finish line, she reasons that since nice guys finish last, this must be Mr. Right! She has a helpful policeman tote him to her nearby apartment, shocking her roommate whose fiancé is due for a dinner date. When the comatose dreamboat revives and cannot remember who he is, Giddy tells him they are married and regrets her subterfuge when he tries to be a loving husband. Complications escalate at a furious pace in this outrageous concoction of wild, warm, and lightning paced hilarity that is perfect for the entire family.

Elora Family Martial Arts Why Kids Love Learning Martial Arts Maybe it’s because there are no bench warmer’s in our classes — every child participates in every activity — no first string, second string, third string. Nobody’s left out. Maybe it’s because they meet new friends who share a common interest, and become part of the Martial Arts family. It could be that they are setting goals and working to achieve them, and when they do, they feel great about themselves. The personal attention our instructors give them, will keep kids interested and engaged and keeps them having fun. Parents who have their kids in our classes love seeing their kids learn self-discipline, self-confidence, respect for others, equality, and how to defend themselves in any situation. Call or stop by the school for more information on our school. 519-846-2612

aquatics General Pool Information: Did you know....? Private Rentals
Private Lessons
Cancelled Classes
• A private pool rental is a great way to celebrate a birthday, or host a special event. Rental times are available Saturday and Sundays between 4:00pm-5:00pm. Call the Supervisor of Aquatic Services (519-843-2800) for more information.
• Private lessons run in the same 9 lesson format as all other lessons. If this doesn’t fit your schedule, we do offer “one time” private lessons. For more information call the Supervisor of Aquatic Services, (519) 843-2800.
• Classes with low enrollment will be cancelled approximately 1 week before programs start. Register early to avoid disappointment.
Strollers
• Looking for gift ideas? Why not purchase swim tickets or passes for Aquatic programs? Inquire by phone (519) 843-2800.
• Due to their size, and the possibility of restricting change room exits, unattended strollers are to be left in the area by the pool office. We apologize for the inconvenience, however we need to ensure all exits are maintained free of obstructions in case of an evacuation is required.
Deck Supervisor • During swimming lessons there is a deck supervisor that oversees all the lessons. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress they are available to answer your questions.
Spectators • Spectators are welcome to watch from the spectator gallery. Viewing lessons from the pool deck is not permitted.
Volunteer • Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer? There are volunteer opportunities available in the Aquatic Centre. We prefer volunteers with some aquatic background (Bronze Cross or Assistant water safety instructors). If interested please call the Sportsplex, (519) 843-2800 and speak with the Supervisor of Aquatic Services.
Gift Ideas
Swim Lesson Progressions: • Did you know your child may repeat a level 3 or 4 times before completing all of the requirements successfully? When registering your children please ensure you register them in the correct level. Swimming skills build from one level to the next. If your child hasn’t completed a level, they will not have the skills they need for the next level.
Not sure what level to register in? Please call the Sportsplex (519) 843-2800 to arrange a time for a FREE SKILLS ASSESSMENT by one of our Aquatic Staff.
Missed Classes • If you miss a scheduled lesson we are unable to make them up.
Transfers • You can switch classes prior to the start of the third lesson if there is space available.
Diapers •As a courtesy to all we request and require that all children who are not toilet trained wear specially designed swimming diapers. The Aquatic Centre has both disposable and reusable swim diapers available at our administration desk.
Other Tips: If possible, please refrain from feeding your child a large meal prior to their swimming lesson.
• NEW “Family Lessons” Do you have difficulty coordinating all of your children’s swimming lessons? We are offering a new format of swimming lessons on Monday and Friday evenings. We will offer all swimming levels at the same time. PLEASE NOTE: In order to coordinate this instructors will teach multi level classes. Your children could be in a split class. Lessons will be 45 minutes in length to provide more practice time for swimmers.

Good things come to those who cheer... Come and find out why cheerleading is the fastest growing sport in Canada and how you can be a part of it right here in Centre Wellington!
Cheerleading has evolved from a support activity to a year-round competitive sport. No longer simply a form of side-line entertainment, cheerleading is now recognized as a viable athletic event in and of itself. Cheerleading involves gymnastics, dance, jumps, stunts and other skills choreographed to music in a 2.5 minute routine. In our community oriented program, routines will be showcased at local venues, events and occasional multi-team meets. Our goal is to provide a safe environment where members will acquire quality skills in all aspects of cheerleading, enabling them to progress to their full potential while having fun. Athletes will learn about leadership, respect, dedication, responsibility, integrity, community involvement, teamwork, the importance of health and fitness, commitment and good sportsmanship.
