The Wellington College Governors’ Scholarship 2021/22
Scholarship (n) /ˈskɒləʃɪp/ 1. Serious study at an unusually high level and the knowledge, understanding and skills obtained from it. 2. An award, often with financial consideration attached, given in recognition and support of outstanding ability, potential and attainment in academic or other pursuits.
The Wellington College International School Bangkok Governors’ Scholarship A scholarship is a reward. A reward for hard work, focus, commitment, motivation - and extraordinary achievement. It is also a responsibility. A Scholar has great ability, and greater potential. That must be realised. When a Scholar and an outstanding school team up, each party must contribute, and excellence must be the ongoing outcome of this collaboration. Wellington College has been giving scholarships for over one hundred and fifty years, and Wellington’s Scholars have been inspiring peers and leading investigation, debate and accomplishment across the College throughout that time. Our first Bangkok Scholarships are offered for Year 9 entry (age 13 on 31st August 2021) to young people of extraordinary ability and potential in the following areas • Overall Academic • Golf • Swimming • Music In addition to their normal studies and activities, Wellington Scholars embark on a tailored programme for excellence, exploring, being challenged—and challenging themselves—to excel.
