HOLIDAY COOKING WITH YOUNG LIVING VITALITY ESSENTIAL OILS

Page 1

Hello! Thank you for attending our Holiday Cooking Class! Below are some of the recipes and more that I talked about. As well as the Conversion chart and some tips on cooking with Essential Oils. We all know as we make recipes over and over we tweak them to improve them, so look for my Tips and Variations at the bottom of each page!

Hi! I’m Christee! And these are my Fur Kids, Storm and Cyclone.

Whether you’re cooking for 1 or cooking for 30+ we’ve got you covered in this class, we’ve got the classics, we’ve got the new twists and we’ve got All the Vitality Oils to help you along the way! This time of year is my absolute favorite. Over the past few years, I’ve experimented a lot with cooking with essential oils and I wanted to share my knowledge with you. I hope you enjoy the class! Let’s Eat!

Christee’s Tip: Ya’ll … It’s the Holiday Season! We all overindulge and that’s ok! BUT Keep these babies on hand to help soothe those overstuffed tummies! Don’t forget about TummyGize for the littles too, we all know they’re going to attack the sweets! Now … Let’s talk Young Living Vitality Oils and Food!!!!

Christee’s Tip: The Conversion Chart! Remember, these are guides, and not hard rules. If a recipe calls for a Tablespoon of Black Pepper and 8 drops just isn’t enough for you … add more! But remember, start slow, taste and add more one drop at a time to get it Just Right! You’ll quickly love cooking with these Vitality Oils!

Christee’s Tip: I prefer the Extra Sharp Cheddar, but hey that’s me. What oils do think would taste great?? Me?! I’d add Rosemary and Thyme too!

Christee’s Tip: Two favorites for the season! Diffused separately of course. But feel free to add your favorite complimentary oil such as, Orange, Tangerine, Cinnamon, Pine … to name a few. Did you know … If you take an Oil or two and remove the lids and smell them together straight from the bottle, you can see what pairs nicely without having to diffuse them first!? Give it a try and see what you like!

Christee’s Variation: I like to reduce the Oregano to 1 drop and add 2 drops of Rosemary! I also like to baste my Turkey as it cooks. So, I keep some melted butter on the stove, and I like to add in all the same oils, except for the lemon and baste away to my heart’s desire. Why no lemon? I like to use the leftover butter on either my mashed taters or in the gravy I’ll be making from scratch late or on a roll!! Just remember to bring the butter to a slight boil to make sure no raw Turkey Juice is in there before using it on an additional dish.

Christee’s Tip: Sit back and enjoy! Your home is going to smell delicious! Speaking of … wouldn’t those three essential oils smell comfy cozy warm in the diffuser? Yes, I think they would … Go for it!

Christee’s Tip: Filling: Mix the Lemon & Cinnamon oils into the maple syrup, then combine the 1st 6 ingredients. Topping: Mix the Cinnamon oil and butter together, then combine.

Christee’s Tip: You don’t want oils to be concentrated into one cube of Cornbread. So, cook the Onions & Celery in ¼ cup of the butter. In a separate saucepan, melt the other ¼ cup of butter, let cool a bit, but don’t let it solidify, add the essential oils and combine. Then pick up at Step 3!

Christee’s Variation: I like to nix the Milk – and add 1 cup of Sour Cream. I also prefer finely chopped garlic, sautéed in butter vs the powdered garlic. Note: 1 Drop of Black Pepper Vitality will not cut it in my crowd! Remember, add as much as you want, 1 drop at a time, tasting along the way until you get the desired flavor you are looking for!

Christee’s Variation: This also works well with Carrots! Prefer Jade Lemon? You can always substitute Jade Lemon Vitality for Lemon Vitality!

Christee’s Tip: Make this the night before, so it has time to really setup in the fridge. Before adding the oils, make sure it is well cooled. I like to add mine when I no longer see steam coming off the top at all, and after I’ve stirred it a few times to make sure it is cooled off through and through. My preferred oil combo: 4 drops of each – Jade Lemon, Lime & Tangerine. I also have made this using ½ cup white sugar, ½ cup brown sugar and 1 cup of water in replacement of the cranberry juice and maple syrup.

Christee’s Variation: Honest – I have not made this recipe. But, don’t have Einkorn Flour? No worries! Use whatever flour you have on hand. How do I make gravy? The Old Fashioned Way! Give me the Potato Starch water and all the Turkey Drippings! I want those little burnt bits on the bottom of the roasting pan in my gravy. I also chop up the neck, liver and heart for added flavor in there. I also prefer to use Corn Starch mixed into cold water to thicken the gravy – remember to bring it to a boil to activate the thickening magic. I’d also be adding Rosemary Vitality to that lineup, and off course adding more Black Pepper Vitality.

Christee’s Tip: The table is set. The food is ready. Everyone is starting to gather around the table. Take a moment and put some Gratitude in your diffuser. Take turns going around the table and saying what you’re grateful for. 2020 has been a tough year, so lets take the time to focus on what’s good in our lives and love on those around us.

Christee’s Tip: Make This! I mean my mouth is watering over here!

Christee’s Tip: This is delicious to make in a crock pot to keep it toasty warm all day long. Love Lemon or Jade Lemon Vitality? Add it on in there, remember, don’t be afraid to play with recipes to suit your taste!

00+

Christee’s Warning: You’ll never make brownies straight out of the box again. Feel free to substitute with Einkorn flour if you have it, just using a box? No problem, still kick it up with Peppermint Vitality!

Good To the Last Drop! Another savvy way to cook with oils and get the best BANG for your buck is to infuse All The Things … butter, salt, olive oil, water, pretty much anything your heart desires!

Flavored Butter: Add one drop of essential oil to 1 tsp of softened butter. Flavored Salt: Grab your empty Lemon, Lime, Basil, Rosemary, or Thyme essential oil bottles and fill them up with good quality Himalyan or Celtic Sea Salt; let sit for at least 24 hours. Voila! Oil-infused salt for your dishes! Flavored Sprays: Combine 1 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 10 drops of your desired essential oil, and filtered water in a 2ounce food-safe, glass spray bottle. Shake well before each use and spray on food at the end of cooking. Perfect for pasta! Flavored Kitchen Oils: You get to play around with this one! Grab a 2-ounce food-safe dropper bottle (preferably glass) and fill it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or your favorite kitchen oil), leaving room for some essential oil flare. Start with just a few drops of your desired essential oil and add more until you’ve reached the preferred level of flavor. Flavored Water: Citrus essential oils are a great option for flavoring your water. They’re cold-pressed from the rind so they aren’t hard on your tooth enamel. Plus they’re filled with antioxidants! Start with one drop in a glass of water (remember oils and plastic don’t do well together) and add more if desired.
