he Chelan AVA is distinguished by a significant “lake effect” that creates mild and favorable temperatures for surrounding areas, resulting in a longer growing season and a reduced risk of frost. You can taste the efficiency of our winter, the quick thaw of spring, our intense summers and a gorgeous harvest in a glass of Lake Chelan AVA wine. Grapes have been grown in the Chelan Valley since before the turn of the 20th century. Today there are more than 30 wineries and tasting rooms around the lake. Each offers a unique and special experience for wine lovers. What makes the Lake Chelan American Viticulture Area (AVA) so unique in geological terms is that our soil is relatively young with volcanic pumice on top of a glacially aged scape. It’s the kind of soil vines love to struggle in under the blanket of hot summer days and cool summer nights.

SOUTH SHORE 2. CHELAN ESTATE WINERY 11-dusk Visit our tasting room for complimentary trufﬂes from Johnsons Candy Company of Tacoma, chocolatiers for over 90 years. Their hand dipped trufﬂes pair nicely with all of our red wines. We are serving our Estate Pinot Noir and Merlot, both 100% estate grapes. Pair with our Reserve Red blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from the Stillwater Creek Vineyard, Columbia Valley. Both vineyards were planted in 2000. Specials on all wines, cheers!

4. FIELDING HILLS WINERY 11-5pm Join us at Fielding Hills Winery for an extraordinary red wine and chocolate event. Guests may experience our Classic Wine tasting option or indulge in the Red Wine and Chocolate tasting featuring our Barrel Select wines specially paired with locally produced Yetti Chocolates. The Barrel Select wines of Fielding Hills are rarely open for tasting. These limited-productions, 100% varietal wines showcase the very best of Fielding Hills. We look forward to your visit. 5. NEFARIOUS CELLARS We are throwing open the doors for just a few days this month and can’t wait to see you! Visit for a rare tasting of Rocky Mother and Defiance Syrah together, along with locally made brownies and some of our other favorite reds. Open Saturday and Sunday from 12 - 5.

6. TUNNEL HILL WINERY Open 12-5pm Join us as we pair luscious hand crafted trufﬂes with our delicious Estate wines. A little decadence to warm the heart and take the chill off the tail end of winter. DOWNTOWN CHELAN 9. ONE WINES, INC. 1pm to 6ish pm Saturday and Sunday One Wines, Inc. is Chelan’s first downtown tasting room and a true boutique winery producing less than 800 cases per year. We take great pride in producing just “One” premium Red Wine, “One” premium White Wine and “One” premium Rose Wine each year. 18. TILDIO Thursday through Monday, noon to five Tildio will be pouring its estate grown Cabernet Franc and a Sangiovese from Okanogan County. The Cad Franc is earthy with expressive aromatics of tobacco, spice, cocoa and licorice. The finish is filled with deep dark fruit and agreeable tannins. Aged 22 months in French oak. The Sangiovese is a big bold red grown near the famed Black Sage Beach. It has big tannins and a long agreeable finish. We will pair this with dark chocolates from Spokandy. Delicious!

DOWNTOWN MANSON 27. ANCESTRY CELLARS Saturdays 1-8, Sundays 1-6 We’ll be pairing up five wines with spectacular selections from Judy’s Sweet Shop in Manson. Whether it’s our La Sœur blend with a raspberry trufﬂe or our Reserve Cabernet with Moonstruck 68% Cacao Dark Chocolate, these pairings will astonish you.
