EUGENIE JONES
146 E. Woodin Ave Chelan, WA
(509) 682-3431
SWIMWORLDCHELAN.COM
Eugenie Jones is described as a performer that makes audiences feel jazz. Vocally described as possessing, “A voice that covers words like pieces of silk covering precious stones,” Jones is an emotive, engaging song stylist that entertains, dazzles and decisively wins over audiences. (Charles Mudede) Reminiscent of style and sophistication of iconic vocalists of the past, Jones sings and scats her way vivaciously through mainstream jazz, but also draws listeners inside contemporary storylines, sharing original tunes that have earned her recognition as a cleverly gifted lyricist. Born and raised in West Virginia
to parents who loved jazz and soul, and growing up with a mother who sang lead in their church choir, exposed Jones to a variety of musical foundations before making her professional debut as a singer/songwriter in Seattle, WA. With an MBA and a career in marketing, however, it wasn’t until she lost her mother to cancer that she felt drawn into the world of music. “I can only describe my beginnings in jazz as a time of missing my mom, missing hearing her voice singing around the house and wondering within myself if I could do that – if I could sing and carry on that part of her?” With her original “A Good Day” downloaded more than 9,000 times critics and fans answer Jones query with a resounding, YES! As a national recording artist, Jones has self-produced two primarily original vocal jazz projects earning her ranking on Jazz Week Review Top-50, #1 spots on CMJ charts, favorable reviews from Down Beat, Jazziz, All About Jazz, and numerous other industry mediums. “In that overcrowded arena known as “female jazz singers”, Seattle-based Eugenie Jones manages to stand apart from the crowd. Ms. Jones has filled both of her outstanding albums with her own engaging compositions. This fact alone differentiates her as she is one of the very few African-American women singer-songwriters in jazz today. And finally, the lady can sing as well as she can write. She is an intelligent, thoughtful composer in the tradition of Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone. Fans of true jazz singing, it’s time for you to sit up and take notice.” (C. Davenport/Curt’s Jazz). www.reverbnation.com/rpk/eugeniejones www.facebook.com/EugenieJonesJazz

from respected jazz radio stations across the country. With his 2008 releases “Nothin’ But Love” and “Home for the Holidays”, Justin enjoyed airplay from The Weather Channel and Delta Airlines along with radio stations across the U.S. Since then, Justin has become a budding new star waiting to be launched into commercial success. Justin’s newest album is all about getting back to the basics of real instruments, analog equipment and unique saxophone rhythms. Live musicians performed in the recording studio which gives the songs a distinct uniqueness. No sequencers were used in the making of this album adding to the realness of music. The songs have a lot of raw feel and emotion without the aid of a computer changing the rhythm. HARD ROW TO HOE WINERY
It is not unusual in remote mining areas to find a story about a local brothel, and Lake Chelan had its stories also. Edgemont Lodge was built about 1924 a few miles up lake from Lucerne at Lightning Creek in an area called
Point Lovely. During the late 1930’s construction was winding down at Grand Coulee Dam and a few of the Coulee Dam professional ladies moved to Edgemont Lodge to “serve” the miners from the newly operational Howe Sound Mine. Need we explain more? Visit to learn more about our story, open daily year-round. Picnic area and vineyard tours available. 300 Ivan Morse Rd., Manson 509.687.3000, hardrow.com PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

What makes the Lake Chelan American Viticulture Area (AVA) so unique in geological terms is that our soil is relatively young with volcanic pumice on top of a glacially aged scape. It’s the kind of soil vines love to struggle in under the blanket of hot summer days and cool summer nights.
You can taste the efficiency of our winter, the quick thaw of spring, our intense summers and a gorgeous harvest in a glass of Lake Chelan AVA wine. Grapes have been grown in the Chelan Valley since before the turn of the 20th century. Today there are more than 30 wineries and tasting rooms around the lake. Each offers a unique and special experience for wine lovers.
The Chelan AVA is also distinguished by a significant “lake effect” that creates mild and favorable temperatures for surrounding
