The Lake Chelan Arts Council will host their yearly festival alongside a vintage market. The event looked a little different back in its first year, 2007. It only included a auction, and didn’t take the form of a festival until 2010. The board hoped to garner funds to purchase sculptures for the community and to pursue other artistic ventures.

This Saturday, The Lake Chelan Arts Creative Arts Festival returns for its 8th year, alongside the Rustique Divas Vintage Market. Organizer Ronna Currier welcomes you to stop by Riverwalk Park and look through the many booths of original art pieces, as well as participate in the silent auction or numerous family activities. Town is just a few steps away from the venue.

The Rustique Divas are a new addition to the festival, offering vintage booths stocked with tons of charming relics. They “bring a fun and rustic atmosphere to the event,” according to Currier. “I truly believe we have something for everyone,” Currier said. “As an added bonus we have antique glassware—think Dean Martin—plants and a special area for the kids. Mark Tesch, our current president, always creates something fun for the kids, from

She enjoys the arts community in Chelan. “The Lake Chelan Arts Council has so many arms to embrace this small town,” Currier explained. “We purchase the beautiful sculptures, renovate the murals, hold art classes, give out scholarships and, of course, hold this annual fundraiser so that we might put our own love for art out there for others to enjoy.

“Chelan is a very artistic community housed with artists, writes, musicians, and actors. To me, art feeds the soul and pulls together a community. To share a love for a painting or a sculpture, or listen to your favorite band under the stars, or cheer on a local actor is to not only fuel and inspire you as a person, but is a way of connecting to others.” Come out and support the art community and find some unique pieces. The festival runs from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Riverwalk Park in Chelan.
