If you’re looking for a great gift or thoughtful souvenirs for friends and family, this is the place to go. Allisons also has a few sales going on so make sure to check it out when you’re in Manson. 71 Wapato Way, Manson
For those that love to cook, you have arrived at heaven. It’s a tasty one, where gourmet foods, colorful cutting boards and other shiny top-of-the-line cookware and bakeware line the walls. They also carry Burt’s Bees products and a house-made fudge. 109 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
BEAR FOODS:
Frenchie’s offers fine gifts for home interiors, special events, as well as gifts for brides and bridal parties. Here, you can dine indoors or on the sidewalk café overlooking the lake. Frenchie’s will be serving champagne by the glass or bottle, and bellinis, as well as charcuterie and cheese boards, sandwiches or seasonal fresh fruit. A few select imported beers are also on the menu. 107 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
Besides an extensive selection of gourmet and natural foods and wine, this market sells natural skin care products like cleansing oils, antioxidant serums and bath soaks. Feel healthy from the inside out. 125 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
BLACK DOG FRAME SHOP & LUSH: This frame shop is a spot for pet lovers and/or those wanting some Chelan memorabilia. They have you covered across ages and styles, with a wide selection of swimwear, dresses, tops, bottoms, sandals, caps and bags. Brands include Tommy Bahama, Karen Kane, Hobo bags, ROXY, Billabong, Amuse, etc. 121 E Woodin Ave, Chelan

LULU BOUTIQUE:
SUNWORKS AT LAKE CHELAN:
What this place lacks in size, it makes up with the attitude in trendy clothing, shoes, jewelry, swimwear and décor from brands like TOMS, Vitamin A and Havaianas. We can’t decide if the baseball cap with “lake hair” or “jeep hair don’t care” describes us better. 116 S Emerson St, Chelan
Picture a long wall of vivid bikinis and one pieces with a few cover ups sprinkled in between. With this selection of swimwear from brands like O’Neil and Gossip, you are sure to find the one. They also have a mens section. 205 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
MAIN STREET GALLERY:
SWIM WORLD:
Come for the art, leave with clothes. Paintings and pastels line red walls as racks of artsy clothing fill the center. The owners seek brands from New York to make the selection of clothing, accessories and some formal dresses as unique as possible. 208 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
It’s easy to walk into the store and forget why “swim” is in the name, with all the clothing, decorations and jewelry. But don’t forget the water fixtures and outdoor décor that brought you here. 146 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
PALAZZO PONDS & WATERFALLS:
Before there was Instagram to prove you traveled, there were T-shirts. Go hipster and stock up on shirts, sweatpants, hats, etc. with Lake Chelan written in some way across. You can also order your own designs. Did we mention the prices are fantastic? 140 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
Though further east on Woodin Ave., you must stop by this outdoor and indoor store for its gorgeous collection of water fixtures, aquatic plants, furniture, fencing and koi fish. 924 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
POSH BOUTIQUE: Posh is the place you go to when you need a break from all the bright Spandex baking in the sun. Here you will find a limited number of dresses, rompers, tops and bottoms in neutral shades and soft fabrics. Think muted and modern. 114 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
RIVERWALK BOOKS: Relish the laid back season with a good read and a visit to a good bookstore. On the first floor, you will find the newest titles on the publishing list while the second floor is a dream for book-loving children. Be sure to ask the knowledgeable staff for their suggestions. 116 E Woodin Ave, Chelan
SPIRALS OF JOY: Take the positive energy from your vacation back home through merchandise meant for healing and spirituality. Products include jewelry, inspirational figurines and Himalayan salt lamps, to name a few. AJ PEARCE
What initially seems like a breezy career girl story quickly turns into a gripping novel set in the WWII London blitzkrieg. During the nightly bombing runs, Emmeline volunteers at a nearby fire dispatch center. She dreams of becoming a journalist, but instead lands a day job screening advice-seeking letters for a weekly magazine, Women’s Friends. All too soon, she and her friends become victims of the bombings and must deal with losses and new horrors each night. In Dear Mrs. Bird, AJ Pearce has given us a most memorable story about both the visible and hidden casualties of war.

The Reservoir Tapes chronicles the disappearance of a young girl in a small English village, with each chapter written from the perspective of a different resident. It’s not an easy writing feat, but Jon McGregor is able to instill a unique narrative clarity for every single character, weaving the young girl’s disappearance with the distinctive stories of each villager. More than a missing persons story, The Reservoir Tapes is about the very universal and human struggle to find meaning and the sacrifices we have to make to feel safe, loved, and truly at home. If you haven’t read anything by Jon McGregor before, make sure not to miss his latest novel.
