Lake Chelan This Week
GREAT READS Inspired recommendations from Riverwalk Books, Lake Chelan Valley’s Community Bookstore since 1994, located at 116 E. Woodin Avenue, Chelan and online at riverwalkbooks.com. Bulletproof Vest: The Ballad of an Outlaw and His Daughter Hardcover by Maria Venegas The haunting story of a daughter’s struggle to confront her father’s turbulent — and often violent — legacy.
Dry Bones in the Valley: A Novel by Tom Bouman When an elderly recluse discovers a corpse on his land, Officer Henry Farrell follows the investigation to strange places in the countryside, and into the depths of his own frayed soul.
Painted Horses by Malcolm Brooks In the mid1950s, America was flush with prosperity and saw an unbroken line of progress clear to the horizon, while the West was still very much wild.
