Small Town Christmas in Lake Chelan S troll through Historic Downtown Chelan enjoying the holiday lights and the merchant windows decked out for the holidays. Start your holiday shopping the day after Thanksgiving and take advantage of Hot Friday Deals all over town. Enjoy a more leisurely pace to the holiday season — maybe even a glass of wine as you contemplate your shopping list. It’s the annual Small Town Christmas Celebration, sponsored by the Historic Downtown Chelan Association (HDCA). This year the group has added a variety of new festivities, beginning with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Downtown Chelan. This year, all children are invited to participate in the Children’s Light Parade on Friday, Nov. 24 at 6:15 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to lead Santa in a parade to light the tree at the intersection of Woodin and Emerson Streets. Glow sticks will be provided for the parade participants. After the lighting, families are invited to stay and enjoy marshmallow roasting, hot cider and cocoa. Also new this year is Breakfast with Santa

on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Campbell’s Resort. Along with a breakfast of pancakes and bacon, youngsters will receive a complimentary photo with Santa and a special gift. Tickets are $12, available at the Resort or the Historic Downtown Chelan Association office. Back again this season are the popular free holiday matinee movies on four consecutive Saturday afternoons at the Ruby Theatre.
