Temporary Volunteers Needed
Do you currently find yourself with a little extra time on your hands? Back from University and looking for something to do? Want to give back to your local community?
We are looking for Volunteers to get involved with Scouting for the next 6-12 months. Almost all the Scouting we will be running will be outdoors and, as such, means we need higher Adult to Child ratios.
The leader teams have been busy getting ready for a safe return to Scouting to allow young people the chance to experience very much the 'Out' in Scouting.
No previous experience needed, just happy to be outdoors in pretty much any weather will be a must. A DBS check will be required, training & support will be provided. We have sections meeting Monday - Thursday evening and the time commitment is a couple of hours a week. they would probably unroll half way across the green and walk off just as you played the

Wendover Bowls Club
The www3 matches have been battling with our unpredictable weather. If they Don Knight
were league matches we would don our wet weather gear and carry on but as it is a internal competition common sense prevails and we postpone and wait for the sun. We all miss playing other clubs but we must all be safe and keep our fingers crossed for next year.

Twice this year, when cutting the grass, I have had to rescue one who has been stuck but since the ramps have been in place the ditch seems to be hedgehog free. Perhaps they have been reading Alice in Wonderland where the Red Queen used rolled up hedgehogs as balls for her croquet game. They would make rotten bowls as perfect shot.
As you can probably work out from my rambling report not much has been happening at the club. The indoor season starts soon with a whole lot of new problems to overcome. Let us hope that the vaccine trials soon produce a result and we can all get back to normal. Our green has acquired two hedgehog ski
Indoor Girlguiding Resumes
Girlguiding was given the green light to resume face-to-face indoor meetings in September and the local units are adjusting their programmes for the term to allow for as much of that as possible. To learn more, visit www.girlguiding.org.uk.
