Swan Community Bank is the trading name of Swan Credit Union Ltd, which is a locally based “not-for-profit” financial organisation owned and run by its members. We offer savings and loans at affordable rates, to help our members save and manage their money ethically and responsibly. We can offer a safe place for you to save; and loans at rates below those offered by high street and internet based consumer loan companies. All those who live or work in Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire can join and there is no joining fee just a £1 minimum saving.
Joining is easy - you can do it online at www. swancommunitybank.org.uk or you can download our smartphone app by searching for “Swan Community Bank”. You can then complete the membership form online. Once you are a member you can manage your account online - check your balance, withdraw savings and apply for a loan. You can save any amount regularly by standing order or by bank transfer. We are also in partnership with an ethical organisation called ENGAGE, offering pre-paid debit cards. These can be used for spending or
ATM withdrawals just like any other Visa card, but cannot become overdrawn and thus incur high interest charges. Current Loan products Our loans are available to those who save with us. Join for free online now. All loans are subject to status and lending criteria, loans available up to 60 months. In the event of death your loan will be paid off in full. Terms and conditions apply. • Small Saver Loan of £750 – £2000 at 3% – 2.5% per month (42.6% – 34.5% APR) over 12 – 36 months. • Saver Loan of £2000 – £5000 at 2% – 1.75% per month (26.8% – 23.1% APR). • Please be aware that once a loan has been granted, you will not be able to withdraw your shares (savings), unless the value of your shares (savings) is in excess of the loan balance repayable, and your payments
are not in arrears. Please note that Credit Referencing may be applied. • Child Benefit Loan - Parents without a savings history with us who have one child can now apply for a £650 loan, while parents with two or more children can apply for up to £1,250 straightaway, providing Child Benefit payments are made into your Credit Union account - 3% per month (42.6% APR). • Payroll Deduction Loan - whoever works for an employer who has a partnership agreement with us is eligible to apply for an introductory loan straightaway of up to £5,000 at as low as 1.5% per month (19.6% APR). • Small Payroll Loan of £750 – £2000 at 2% per month (26.8% APR) over 12- 36 months • Payroll Loan of £2000 – £5000 at 1.75% – 1.5% per month (23.1 – 19.6% APR) for loan amounts over £4000 for 24 – 60 months [note: starts @ £2001 & £4001] • Please be aware that once a loan has been granted, you will not be able to withdraw your shares (savings), unless the value of your shares (savings) is in excess of the loan balance repayable, and your payments are not in arrears. Please note that Credit Referencing may be applied. • Start to Save Loan of £750 – £1500 at 3% per month (42.6% APR) per month over 12-24 months. This loan does not require a savings history with us, but Credit Referencing may be applied.
