Happy Retirement!

At the end of March, RAF Halton said a fond farewell to the Assistant Media and Communications Officer, Jane Reilly, as she began her retirement.

Jane joined the Civil Service in 1994 and came to RAF Halton in 1996. She took up the role in the media office in 2004 and over the past 17 years she has been pivotal in representing the Station across many media platforms and will be very much missed.

To congratulate her on such an excellent career at RAF Halton she received a specially framed Station Commander's coin. Group Captain Dan Startup said, "We are truly appreciative of your 27 years in the Civil Service.”

Everyone at RAF Halton wishes Jane the very best in this next chapter of her life.

New Recruit Familiarisation The Recruit Training Squadron (RTS) have had to adapt quite a lot in order to continue in their delivery of Phase One Training at RAF Halton this past 12 months. As there can currently be no Pre Recruit Familiarisation Visits, a forum has been created which enables the staff of RTS to speak with the incoming recruits prior to their arrival in a virtual environment. By using Microsoft Teams, the instructors are able to speak with each cohort of recruits directly and answer any relevant questions they may have. The recruits are welcomed by Officer Commanding RTS, Squadron Leader Katy Steed, before hearing from Warrant Officer RTS, Stu Pullar. They then get to talk to the intake instructors, the physical education instructors and Initial Force Protection Training (IFPT).
