Wendover Charity Road Run 2021

Ben Soden and Dom King cheered us all up last summer (as we eased out of our first lockdown) by organising a road run of tractors, lorries and vintage vehicles to honour the NHS.

By public demand, and because all involved enjoyed it so much, they decided to repeat the exercise on Saturday 31 July 2021 raising a whopping £1815 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Many thanks to all who contributed. Ben and Dom do it for the charity and take nothing for themselves.

This time, stalwart observers stood in the pouring rain and were rewarded with a splendid drive past lasting over 11 minutes, videoed by Wendover resident Ben Glazier, https://youtu.be/EVF_T3Uld-c.

Aylesbury and District News were on hand to photograph the wonderful vehicles. Many thanks for permission to reproduce these images. As many as 96 vehicles took part including £100k tractors and 1950s vintage lorries. This time, donations started flowing in immediately and immediately and the £1000 target was smashed in a couple of days so huge thanks to everyone who took part by organising, entering a vehicle, recording the event, donating, standing in the rain to clap.

Staycation at its best!
