Wendover Summer Scarecrow Trail

Congratulations to Alison for another brilliant Summer Scarecrow Trail (Sunday 15 to Tuesday 31 August) to entertain us all during the summer months including making and visiting. We needed a lot of cheering up during a depressingly dull and cold August!

Alison's back up team was: Miranda, as there is so much admin; Bob, who provided the wooden medals; and Fiona who sold the entry forms along with The Shoulder of Mutton and Premier Stores at Princess Mary Gate. Fiona also provided the venue for the presentations which were made at 3:30pm on Saturday 4 September. The whole event was sponsored and judged by Jeff Harris of Hampden Financial Services.

Over £1000 was raised and the beneficiaries were John Hampden Infant School and Wendover Youth Centre. If you would like to help or participate next year, please email scarecrowtrailwendover@gmail.com.

Most correct guesses

Only two entries scored 37/37; these were submitted by two siblings, so first and second prizes were randomly selected. Then there were 13 people who scored 36/37 so again a name was pulled from a hat for the third-place winner.
