Wendover Dementia Support has been using the OMI ‘magic table’ since the Monday club reopened earlier this year. It has been enjoyed immensely by all the visitors and has provided much shared laughter, communication, social involvement and stimulation during the sessions. people in activities which stimulate movement, communication and mental engagement will always be beneficial and ultimately enhance their quality of life. The Tovertafel OMI projector has been bought by Wendover Dementia Action Alliance (WDAA), who obtained funding from Wendover Parish Council and LHC Community Benefit Fund to buy and use the projector in the local community. The interactive technology, known as the Magic Table (the English translation of the brand name), is to be lent to various local organisations to use. These could include people with dementia and their carers, day centres, special needs settings, schools, and other community groups to help enhance their learning and quality of life.

The 'Magic Table' in use The Tovertafel projector creates bright, moving image displays on a table that participants can interact with by playing games, completing challenges, music, videos etc. It can also be used as a floor activity. Launched in the Netherlands two years ago, it was initially created to help special needs children before being used for people with dementia.

Monday Club Volunteer Drivers
