EKFB and HS2 Construction Update
HS2 in Wendover
Small Dean Lane to the south of Wendover currently has a longterm closure in place for the construction of the Small Dean Viaduct which will span the A413 London Road, the Chiltern Rail line and Small Dean Lane itself. The road is not likely to reopen until 2024.
To maintain connectivity and to enable cyclists, walkers and those on horseback to cross our works, we have constructed a temporary bridleway from the bottom of Small Dean Lane near the roundabout for the Wendover Bypass. The route of this new bridleway runs through and around our site, exiting part of the way up Small Dean Lane.
The bridleway crosses a busy internal haul road. To ensure those using the path are kept safely away from large plant and machinery, we will
have a crossing point. This crossing point will have traffic marshals on either side making sure vehicles' movements cease so that safe crossing can be made.
Work on the construction of the bridleway is almost complete and once Buckinghamshire Council have approved this path it will be opened to the public. We expect the bridleway to be open before the end of August.
